Meet Jakeena Geobani of Keena Konnects – Where Life Meets Purpose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jakeena Geobani.

Hi Jakeena, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Certified Life Coach, Facilitator, Motivational Empowerment Speaker, and Founder and CEO of Keena Konnects LLC! My passion is providing a listening ear and liberating advice to those in need of clarity and guidance.

This passion started as a child, I have always wanted to help those that didn’t have a strong support system readily available. I grew up feeling lost and uncertain of my worth and there were not many people around that I could trust to share how I was feeling. This led to some bad decisions and my life got off track, it took years to course correct but I made it. Having this experience led me to open up Keena Konnects because I never want anyone to be in a space where they feel that no one cares or that their voice doesn’t matter.

I have been a coach to many people over the course of my 18 years working in corporate America. Last year with the support and encouragement of my wife I decided to open Keena Konnects, Where Life Meets Purpose. Having my own business fills my life with purpose. When I see my clients achieve their goals, overcome self-limiting mindsets, and feel empowered, it brings me sincere joy! Keena Konnects is about helping people in society have a safe space to be exactly who they are meant to be, a place where all are welcome to reconnect with their true selves uncover talents, and live a life of purpose.

This article is important because lots of people have never heard of a Life Coach. It is important for the world to know about the benefits of having a life coach, and the positive life-changing things that will happen when you have a partner to help you navigate through life’s ups and downs and come out on top.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This road has not been smooth at all. Deciding to launch a business during a pandemic while working full-time and having a baby was a struggle. Many people said, “stick with your day job”, I was questioned about why I wanted to be a Life Coach and that my 9-5 should be good enough. I need to leave a legacy for my children. I want my great-great-grandchildren to know my name and the sacrifices I made to ensure they can live a life filled with meaning and joy.

I want everyone to know that if you have a dream it can be achieved with the right support and guidance. There were times in my past when I didn’t want to live anymore, I felt hopeless and that my dreams would not manifest. Now I see life totally differently and I will help others see things differently too. Partnership, accountability, trust, and support are some of the things I provide to my clients.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Keena Konnects offers individual and group coaching. I am an author of a positive self-talk book and journal. I plan monthly events under my brand to bring individuals together (yoga in the park, sharing circles, and paint and shares). I specialize in mindset shifts to have a new paradigm on life and personal capabilities. My focus is to uncover the self-limiting beliefs that cause people to not reach their goals.

I want people to know that I am trustworthy, sincere, and their biggest cheerleader. I want to empower people to feel they matter and are worthy of greatness. I listen without judgment and we create a realistic plan of action to live a life of purpose. I am proud of my brand because I get to use my given talents to connect with people effortlessly. I create a safe space of hope and liberation to take on life’s challenges and still be successful.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
Taking risks is needed in life. Sometimes you are faced with uncertainty, not being sure of the outcome but still optimistic in the hopes things will turn out great. After facing many adversities, I choose to bet on myself and take risks to reach my dreams. I took a risk being a single parent giving birth to a beautiful son weeks after turning 16. I took a risk marrying a woman in today’s judgmental environment.

We took a risk and had a baby. These few examples have helped me live a better life. I was not concerned with others’ opinions just about my own happiness and well-being. Now more than ever people need to take risks for their betterment,
