Meet Jasmine Stokes of The Greater Me Consulting

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Stokes.

Hi Jasmine, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstories with our readers.
Wow, where do I even begin? Let’s see here to sum it all up… my husband spoke my business to me and into me. I have always been known as an intercessor, a helping hand, a comforting ear, a fixer, and a problem solver. Late one evening my husband was speaking to me and he was like “babe you should just be a life coach”. Now, this was something I would joke about and I wanted to do and be but I didn’t necessarily know how to go about it. After having a conversation with him, you know the meta powers that be went into gear, lol. I scroll through Facebook and there’s a class. So quite naturally I was a little afraid but I decided it was time. So, I signed up and became a Certified Life Coach. This, grew me to become a Certified Master Life Coach where I could teach other women the foundational structure of coaching, help them start their businesses, and create a revenue stream in their businesses.

I never thought having the gift of helping someone, wanting to help someone, and sharing my life’s journey and lessons would bring me to being an entrepreneur and helping women to this magnitude.

So, I formed The Greater Me Consulting and which is a Coaching and Consulting business for minority women. The sole purpose is to empower women to the next level in life, their “greater” level through Life Coaching. At Greater Me Consulting, I teach women how to not only survive in their life journey but thrive. I offer products geared towards confidence, empowerment, and self-healing. The Consulting portion of the business launched The Empower You Academy in late 2019. Here, I offer online courses, webinars, and training certifications to allow women to better themselves in business and entrepreneurship. The biggest challenge I’ve faced with starting my own business was understanding it is mine. I was in Corporate America for over 20 years (just left in May of this year) and I was so conformed to doing everything “someone else’s” way. It was a daily struggle when I would look at branding, marketing, or even catchy slogans. I kept thinking it had to be so “politically correct” and this isn’t the case. I’m the boss, I decide what I want/need, and I get to tailor it all to me; my personality, my target audience, and how I want women to feel when they first see or engage with my company.

I had a serious pep talk with myself and released that energy and hold that had me. I want women to know and feel encouraged to be them, love them, and most importantly Choose Them! My biggest message is titled “I Choose Me” and it’s a daily affirmation and lifestyle we all have to get accustomed to saying and living. It runs deeper than the outward appearance and it’s more than just a catchy slogan. I’m choosing myself still in so many areas but until I Chose Myself, this business I’m running couldn’t. The life I’m living couldn’t choose me until I knew I was comfortable being me and I made no excuses about who I am, what I like, and what I do.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a smooth road honestly. Outside of the normal imposter syndrome popping up which I’ve come to learn happens to all of the greats. I have been truly blessed to be in business for over three years and to see a profit. It’s one thing to make revenue but to see a profit in my business within these three years I’m elated. I don’t want to say “oh there aren’t any hard days or hurdles”.

Yes, fine-tuning my target audience, marketing on a budget, getting additional funding, and learning the many woes of social media marketing have been what I deem the “necessary challenge” for all business owners. The key is to keep researching, keep taking a training courses, keep a coach and support system close, and stay open to continuously learning and getting better. I just take it day by day and that keeps me focused, and not too overwhelmed and I’m able to appreciate the hurdles once I overcome them.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Greater Me Consulting. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
As stated above I am a Certified Master Life Coach and I specialize in helping minority women start their businesses.

I specialize in helping women make themselves and their purpose a priority. Once they walk into their purpose, they can ignite their passion for business and then see a profit. What sets me apart is the grace of God on my life, the faith my business is built upon, and the fact I am purposed for this. I am passionate about impacting and helping women accept themselves and then my profit comes after I walk in my purpose. Money does not drive me in this business. It is the women I get to impact, their drive and success drive me.

I am most proud of the Empower You Academy. The Academy is where I certify life coaches and the reason I am most proud of the academy is that this is when and where I get to see what I truly do and the impact it has on the women assigned to me. To date, I have certified over 50 women. When each woman registers for a class, I say “they are about to get it done”. It is their business, their personal goal, their business product or services release. Once they graduate and they’re doing it I then say “they are getting it done”. This is so refreshing and rewarding. Each woman set out to achieve a goal, they worked with me and achieved it. What more can I ask for?!

I would like for whoever is reading this to know you are enough, just as you are. This is something I had to learn and be comfortable with before starting my business but it’s become more true while running the business. Being comfortable in who God created you to be and doing what God created you to do is what separates you from anyone else. If anyone is looking to start their business as a Life Coach or Business Consultant or maybe in need of some coaching to help them get to their next in business, please check out my website at www.thegreatermeconsulting.com and enroll in a program. If you do enroll, please let me know if you read this article when registering.

What are your plans for the future?
Let’s see. I’m looking forward to my second annual Empower You conference next year. We just wrapped up the very first Empower You Conference in Nashville, TN on September 17, 2022. This conference was HUGE and made an impact on each attendee. I’m looking forward to continuing to provide a safe space and learning environment for women entrepreneurs.

I’m also looking forward to certifying another 30 women as Life Coaches in the year 2023 and taking my coaching and consulting practices to the corporate level. I have a sweet spot for my Corporate Bae (as I was one for 20 years) and I want to ensure they have the support to work both a career and start a business… successfully.
