Meet Javon Everett

Today we’d like to introduce you to Javon Everett.

Javon, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
My name is Javon Everett born also known by my stage name as Visionz2turnt. I grew up in Washington, DC born and raised then moved to Maryland and North Carolina. I started music back in the 2nd grade and the passion evolved from there.

I grew up with 4 other siblings in which in was the middle child. Music has always been in me I just didn’t know because I started off writing poetry and then freestyling evolved to songs. my genre is rap, hip-hop, trap, conscious hip-hop, and R&B.

My songs are about my everyday struggle or the struggle of people I know and things I saw growing up. Nobody has the best childhood but it’s all about what you take from it growing up that transforms you into the person you become.

I moved to Henderson, NC in 2006 to complete the 12 grade and make a new life for myself.

I met my sister’s bf at the time who went by the name of Bigmoshawty and he actually got me started in the studio recording music because I was a street rapper at first and never recorded. I did a few shows here and there but perfected my craft first to ensure better results. I had my first child and got married in 2009 and joined the army in which I was sent to Hawaii as my duty station.

While in the military, I continued to pursue music and gain more fans overseas, and then I started doing bigger shows there in which I opened for honey cocaine and did club shows as well. I left Hawaii to go to Afghanistan and music kept me sane and my mind focused because at that time my wife was pregnant with my second child.

I got home safe and ended up at Fort Campbell where I stayed for two years before retiring and going to school for my degree. my kid count grew more and I ended up with 5 kids by the time I left the army and it made my passion grow more and more. I then was found on Instagram in 2019 by a label exec when I put my music video IDK on World Star Hip-Hop.

This gave me the opportunity to go to California and meet with Warner records to discuss future plans. I didn’t get signed but gained the knowledge needed to grow my fanbase and increase my online presence which I was picked up for a distribution deal with Bentley Records. and I utilized all my knowledge to continue and then my divorce came in 2020 which pushed me to go harder when I was left with my 5 kids.

I was a single father of 5 in school and pursuing a rap career not working. Then 2021 it all paid off when I signed a distribution contract with Universal Music Group InGrooves. This gave me radio play and grew my fanbase more and got me where I am today.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
when you are on a road to making dreams come true it’s never easy nor smooth. anyone who says it would be lying.

It makes or breaks you as a person and lets you know how strong your spirit really is and if you can endure what is in front of you. I had to deal with scammers, liars, bootleg people, defeat, critics, pain, heartache, and all-around depression.

Things never go like you plan in your head but the point is to get thru it to the end. Anything is possible with consistency and dedication.
