Today we’d like to introduce you to Jeffrey Krantz.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Well, I grew up in a very musical household in small-town Iowa, so I had the bug in me early on. I discovered the Beatles when I was 12 and knew exactly what I wanted to do. I picked up a guitar and started writing songs (not that quickly but you get what I mean). I’ve played in lots of bands and toured all over through the years. Currently in Nashville and about to relocate to Las Vegas in early 2023. Still pumping out new Krantz tunes!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Ha, well I feel it’s never completely smooth, but what’s the fun in that? Have slept on a fair share of floors, and lived in some not-so-great living conditions, but it’s what I signed up for. Still a good struggle here and there, but ya just gotta keep on.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a singer/songwriter/guitarist who front’s my own pop rock band, “Krantz”. I also do a lot of freelance guitar work and play for a lot of really cool artists/bands around town. I’m most known for my own thing though. Krantz is where my heart is, and the end goal is to be able to live comfortably just by doing that.
I definitely stick out as an artist, especially being a rock guy living in a country town. I do rip a mean guitar, and it’s rare to see a lead singer who can do both.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up.
I have a really great memory of when I was probably 13 or so, jamming in the basement of my house with my dad’s old band. We played some Buddy Holly tunes and it was so cool playing with the pros.
