Meet Jennie Angel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennie Angel.

Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
I started writing songs at 13. I have always loved poetry, plays, acting, and music, and I performed in high school on stage via karaoke and accompanying myself on guitar. This took a standstill for a few years while in an abusive relationship. I went back out again, singing, writing songs, and recording originals to be released on radio and all streaming platforms for the past 4 years. I love art and music and want to continue on this pathway. The trajectory seems promising.

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
After my divorce, I started going to karaoke and the open mics after meeting a man who performed live music. He cheated and broke my heart. That made for lots of songs. “Move On,” “too Good For it,” etc. My ex-brother-in-law and sister-in-law tragically lost their lives due to domestic violence. That took me a few years to write and release “No One To Blame.” Many people have tried to take advantage, and I have developed boundaries along the way. I have also met some BRILLIANT selfless individuals who have helped me catapult my dreams into reality. And for that, the sufferings are worth the struggle.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a singer, songwriter, special education teacher, and tennis coach. I love running for fun also! You’ll see me on the road.

What’s next?
I am very excited to play my first show in Nashville! I cannot believe I have the opportunity to play there as a Member of the Academy of Country music. I plan on going to record two more songs coming out the end of a July, back to Nashville to record the end of September!
