Meet Jennifer Stalsworth of Lilly Jack Teepees

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Stalsworth.

Hi Jennifer, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I was a stay at home mom for fourteen years when I felt that my volunteering days needed to come to an end and go back to work. I have a Marketing degree that I had not really used in a very long time. We have two children and I had devoted all my time into everything they were involved in. I gave a lot of time to the PTO at their school, served in the Preschool on Sunday mornings at church, and hosted a ton of parties for the kids. I have always loved to decorate, shop for accessories, and plan the most fun birthday parties! When our daughter was turning 10, she wanted to have her first slumber party. As I began planning it I decided I wanted to surprise her with teepees. After researching for several days the closest place to rent them was in Georgia so I knew that wasn’t an option. I shared my idea with my husband of him making the teepees and my mom sewing the fabrics. He went along with my idea! After figuring all the costs of the materials I decided to launch the business in March of 2019, with the goal of breaking even. Our kids names are Kaden Jack and Lillian Grace and that is where I came up with the name of Lilly Jack Teepees. I never dreamed it would take off like it did! I give God all the glory and praise for giving me the idea and consistently sending customers our way! We have met some of the nicest people through this business! My husband and kids help with pickups on the weekends and I have a couple of wonderful friends who I get to work with on the deliveries and setups each week! We have continually expanded our business and offer tons of options for boys and girls. We also offer custom parties when the birthday girl has a particular idea in mind! We love to see kids happy and making the best childhood memories with their friends! They grow up too fast but they will always have the memories of their favorite birthday parties!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Overall, it has been a smooth road since we launched our business. There will always be challenges with anything you do. One of the biggest challenges is trying to get everything packed and loaded to fit in the vehicle for delivery. We bring a lot of accessories and other extra items just in case something isn’t working right! Another challenge we face each week is meticulous planning for the deliveries. We have to account the traffic flow based on the time of day when scheduling our appointments so we are on time and within our time frame for delivery and setup. We also have to take in account of the drive time to reload because it is very rare that we can fit more than one party in a SUV. We travel a lot of miles which takes precise planning.

Lilly Jack Teepees offers the most beautiful teepees and accessories that will take your slumber party to the next level! We have more themes or color schemes than we can count for boys and girls. We will deliver and assemble all of your teepees, along with twin size air mattresses, linens, fairy lights, lanterns, rugs, throw pillows, and mini chalkboard name plates and have it all beautifully decorated before your party guests arrive. The next day, we will pack it all up and haul it all away leaving only memories behind. One of the best parts about Lilly Jack Teepees is that very rarely does a party ever look the same because we mix and match from so many accessories that each party is custom for your child. One of the favorite items that we use at all of our setups is the light up sign that includes the birthday child’s name. The kids really enjoy that part about their party and it makes them feel special! We have themes such as unicorns, rainbows, llamas, tie dye, Harry Potter, multi sports, gaming, movie/popcorn and tons more but sometimes the favorites are the classic color schemes we offer. We offer just as many color coordinated setups as we do themed setups. Every item is cleaned and sanitized thoroughly before the next party!

How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t say luck has played a role in my life and business but God definitely has. God has always provided what we needed when we needed it. Some people may call that luck but I believe in the Higher Power. I believe in working hard and doing your very best from when I was a stay at home mom to currently running a business. I never dreamed I would own a business and get to a part of so many people’s lives. I get to see and witness joyful moments with these families each week so I am beyond blessed and thankful for that! We also have the best customers on the planet who recommend us to their friends. By word of mouth is how we have grown this business and for that we are so grateful for our customers!
