Meet Jenny Beth Kroplin, Registered Dietitian & Healthy living expert

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jenny Beth Kroplin.

Hi Jenny Beth, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi and Hello ….. my name is Jenny Beth Kroplin (maiden name Gillihan) and I am a lover of all things healthy! Before I jump into my passion for wellness and how I have dedicated my life to the health and wellness field, here is a little about me.

I am a southern girl through and through born in Alabama, raised in Kentucky, and moved to Nashville, TN in 1997 to attend Lipscomb University where I gained my Bachelor’s degree in Science and Dietetics.

I am an only child and as I reflect back on my childhood, I truly feel so thankful for parents that loved me and guided me to where I am today….thank you Mom and Dad!

I am happily married with two precious sons and get to take that same love I was raised in and pour into our little family, friends, and work every day, truly a blessing!

I grew up in a healthcare family so from a young age wellness and leading a healthy lifestyle was important.

I love to play tennis, dance, travel, spend time with my loved ones, love to make things pretty or special, my love language is giving, and just love to live life to the fullest!

Along with my passion for the wellness field I also fell in love with News Broadcasting and Journalism, in fact when I came to Nashville in 1997 that was my original path until I realized I really wanted to focus in the healthcare field however I dreamed of one day molding the health and media worlds together!

After completing my bachelor’s degree I was accepted into the Dietetic and Nutrition Internship at Lipscomb University where I practiced both clinically and in the community for one year and passed the CDR board exam which provided the training to pave the path as a Registered Dietitian.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
My first job was at Baptist Hospital now Saint Thomas Midtown in the Neonatal Intensive Care along with general clinical care where I sharpened my skills in medical nutrition therapy and gained great experience that propelled me to my next job with Mead Johnson Nutritionals where I was a Territory Business Manager for Middle Tennessee.

Along with nutrition and wellness, I was able to sharpen my business, marketing, and sales skills through working with Mead Johnson and in 2010 I decided to open my own Pediatric and Women’s Nutrition Private Practice called Healthy Beginnings LLC.

At the time, I had a newborn baby and I was stepping out to run my own business where I learned so much!

All of the skills gained up to this point shaped how I started and ran my practice.

My private practice provided 1:1 client services along with speaking, writing, and media services.

In 2013 I decided to make a shift after having my second baby, close my private practice, and really grow my role as a Dietitian in media, speaking, and writing.

As a Registered Dietitian, it’s important to deliver evidenced-based, truthful, and applicable nutrition information to the public so that has always been my mission!

Working more in a mass nutrition communication area has brought many opportunities and collaborations with companies, brands, universities, news stations across Tennessee and Kentucky, and contributions in national articles over the past 8 years!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your path forward in the health & wellness field!?
Along the way, I have trained myself in certain areas that were not a part of the Dietetic Internship program and it has been through determination, grit, and experience that I feel ready to take what I have learned and expand a fresh, healthy lifestyle brand moving forward. I have a passion for helping women thrive and flourish so over the past year and a half I have been working on a healthy lifestyle brand that molds many aspects of our wellbeing and health together.

This brand is rooted in love and focused on empowering women to feel happy, healthy, and whole!

Side story, many years ago I had a vivid dream where the word “HAVEN” was spelled out so clearly, I remember that dream like it was yesterday and have held it close to my heart!

The dream was so powerful I knew it was a business of some kind and that I was supposed to do something with it one day!

Over the years “Haven” has always been in the back of my mind so as I have been working on creating this fresh brand, it was clear that it needed to be women focused molding my passion in helping women thrive!

I don’t consider myself to have all the answers but through my experiences and passions I hope to inspire other sisters to feel happy, healthy, and to live “In Her Haven” as we walk through life together!

Be on the lookout for “In Her Haven” set to launch very soon which will focus on empowering women to design their personal healthy and happy lifestyle through nutrition & wellness, clean beauty, wholesome home & style content, along with resources to download, and much more! (www.InHerHaven.com).

As I reflect back on my career I am so grateful for the diverse opportunities and experiences gained that have all guided me to this stage of my career.

Throughout my career I would say it has not always been rosie but through the twists and turns I am grateful for every moment of growth!

I look at each new journey, experience, or situation like a stepping stone to equip me for what is ahead so I can ultimately serve others in the best possible way as a leader in the wellness field.

One of the most important lessons I have learned through my career is to adapt to change, be able to pivot when you need to, and stay true to who you are!

I can fully say that I have followed my passions throughout my career and continue to explore others.

A fun fact about me is that I have a secret little passion for anything home and design. Although I am not an interior designer, I believe we can “design” and work towards the healthy lifestyle or haven we want to have.

It’s also my firm belief that the space we dwell in, our home, is very much tied to our overall health so it’s fun to add that element of “design” in health focused ways to “In Her Haven” coming up!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
When it comes to happiness…….

Happiness and health is central to how “In Her Haven” can serve others curating their personal happy haven but also central to my own life.

Happiness is individual, an inside job, and so important to our whole health, it’s super important to tap into that “happy” energy and what brings us daily doses of “happy!”

Personally many aspects of life bring me happiness, I strive daily to find happiness in the tiny to big things life has to offer and laugh often!

Top of my “happiness” list that feeds my soul would be Jesus, my loving family, my dear friendships, sunshine, the beach, walks, little dose of shopping, sunshine, cuddles from our Cavapoo puppy, hydrangeas, eucalyptus, hugs, dancing, sunsets, smiles, a delish salad, pearls, the color pink, good glass of rose’, hugs from my boys, and…… I look forward to the happiness it will bring in my career moving forward helping other women thrive and flourish “In Her Haven!”
