Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Parham Lynette Womble.
Hi Jessica Parham , it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The Skin Project opened officially in October of 2020. Our owners have always had a love and personal interest in aesthetics but had originally thought that it would be something that would be done “on the side” of our family medical practice. When we first started, we were seeing clients in a small room within our primary care office. We quickly fell in love with aesthetics and with taking care of patients in this capacity. When we outgrew that space, we moved to a rental space that was a little larger across town. In September of 2024, we finally moved into our own and current location at 206 Lane Parkway. We have maintained three injectors and added two aestheticians to our practice over the years. Each provider at the skin project is passionate about helping patients reach their individual skin care goals and to feel confident in his or her own skin.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m not sure any small business owner would say that the road is smooth or easy, and it is a very long one that we are still actively traveling down. Starting a small business in the aesthetics industry comes with unique challenges, particularly when it comes to financial planning. Determining the right level of investment can be daunting. The industry requires significant up-front costs for trainings, specialized equipment, high-quality skincare products, etc. We also had to add some facility enhancements to create a welcoming and professional atmosphere. It’s a constant balancing act between spending to grow the business and ensuring financial stability in our specific market. It is a lot of hard work, sacrifice and long hours, but we would not trade it for anything. It’s an absolute honor to be able to take care of our patients, and we have made the most amazing friendships and lasting relationships along the way.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

What are your plans for the future?
There are a lot of really exciting trends in aesthetics right now. The entire industry seems to be transitioning to a more natural end result. At the skin project, we want to focus our services so that natural, undetectable results and overall skin health are at the forefront of every treatment we offer. With the landscape of treatments constantly changing, we want to continue to learn and grow so that we can offer the most evidence-based and effective options available. We are planning to add some exciting new services before the end of the year. At the end of the day, our goal is to continue to serve our community and to help each patient that we encounter to feel more comfortable and confident in his or her own skin.
