Today we’d like to introduce you to Jet Jurgensmeyer.
Hi Jet, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I was born and raised right here in Nashville. TN. My parents owned a restaurant called the Nashville Palace from when I was born, until I was 8. So from a very early age (3 years old), I started getting on stage and performing. Some really close friends of ours, the Mandrell sisters told my parents to try acting with me and see what happened. I went on my first audition when I was 4, and started going to LA when I was 5. From then on, it kind of just snowballed into working consistently and we ended up being in California most of the time. I was super fortunate to be able to work for a bunch of cool studios like FOX, Disney, and Nickelodeon and made some really awesome memories. I started really getting back into music when I was about 10 or so, and started writing songs not long after that. We began to release songs and albums and I’ve started touring with my band which has been basically the coolest thing ever. I love being able to travel with my family and friends and see the country and perform for such great audiences. Being able to continue with acting while being on the road and writing songs I think has been a huge benefit. Both compliment one another so well, whether that be helping with on stage or in the studio. I’m super happy that I get to do both together.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Absolutely not. I always say that you have to be willing to hear “No” a lot more than “Yes.” However, those lows and being turned down and told no, make the highs feel so good. I believe that everything happens for a reason and everyone’s journey is different, so as long as you let God make the path for you, you’re golden. There have been so many times that I’ve wanted a role and put a ton of time into it, and not even got a callback for it. Same goes with music, I’ve written some really cool songs that I thought everyone would love and later I realize the song sucks and no one likes it. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions, you only get one life so you gotta give it all you got.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I think I’m most proud of my ability to write relatable music. I write about what I know, therefore, the people listening get an up close look at my life and what I’m going through. I think it helps people going through similar things know they aren’t alone. I’m just a regular guy that gets to write song’s for a living, so hopefully other people listening will feel that and connect with me. My co-writers and I will just sit down and start telling each other what we’ve been going through to one another and that usually sparks up an idea that we will run with.
What’s next?
I’m really excited for this next phase of both music and touring. 2026 is going to be busy and hectic, but honestly I wouldn’t have it any other way. The songs are going to be really cool, as I continue to grow as a person and artist and find what I love my music to sound like. My shows are going to get better as my band and I mesh more and more and hopefully help people have the best time they could. Hopefully people think that each song tops the last and loves them just as much, if not more.
