Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Snorten.
Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up seeing my father as an artist inspired me to want to do the same thing. He inspired me to treat others as you would have them treat you. He carried himself in such a manner that I looked at no one higher than him other than God. He was the most well-dressed and mannered man I knew.
He taught me to go after anything I set my mind to do with all I had. I started drawing at a young age and went on to graduate from Nossi College of Art and began freelance work immediately after. I worked for multiple companies designing and photographing all across the United States. While being a lead graphic designer for a Hendersonville-based company I finally decided to go out on my own and start my own photography business.
While that business was running well I had the opportunity to go after what I really loved and started a clothing company with a partner of mine called John Michael Exclusive Wardrobe. Everything I oversee has come by way of working hard and having the patience to see things through. I’ve worked as a line cook, grocery stocker, retail salesman, manufacturer worker, and so on. Throughout my work history, I knew that there was a calling for me in a different area and God has blessed me to see it manifest.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The hardest struggle was not having a guide to what I do. I didn’t have a mentor so I was moving with the knowledge of how to operate accordingly. Even when I did find someone I thought could show me the ropes they withheld information. So my biggest challenge was doing this on faith.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I photograph people. Also, I’m a graphic designer, artist, tailor, and fashion designer. I specialize in Men and Women’s suits as well as creative images. I’m most proud of me being able to accomplish what God has put before me to complete. My style in fashion is like no other and my images and our color is second to no one.
