Today we’d like to introduce you to July Peguero.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started shortly after I moved from my hometown in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, to Tarrytown, New York, in October 2003.
I realized how difficult it was to adapt to a new country, with a new language and a totally different way to go about everything. And at 21 years old, I didn’t have any money or connections, not even a college education.
I am passionate about serving, making others’ lives easier; that is something God put in my heart from a very early age, so all the glory be to Him.
My train of thought back then was something like this:
If I need to assign a number to my struggle level when navigating this new life, I will say it is an 8 out of 10 (or something like that).
So by sharing what I learn along the way, in this new journey of mine, I could probably lower the level of struggling for the next person who comes in.
I made up my mind to use everything and anything I learn to assist anyone around me.
I started to share what I was doing to help me adapt (going to the Library to learn as much English as possible, and as quickly as possible, while waiting for the next English Class semester to open up)
Then I will volunteer to translate documents and conversations, and to guide people to whichever agency centers they could go for any personal assistance they needed.
Before I realized it, I had a large volume of Volunteer work at my desk.
In 2010, seven years later, months after graduating from College, and while I was expecting my baby girl, I made it all official and registered my business with Westchester County, NY.
I moved to Tennessee in November 2013 and continued looking for an opportunity to serve.
I am an active member in my church, volunteering to serve as much as I can. And had the honor to be part of my first Mission Trip back in June 2025.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been rough in many ways, but I have been blessed with supportive family and friends. But overall, with God’s love covering me every step of the way.
Being a minority has its challenges. It took me a long time to earn my College Degree due to the language barrier and limited financial resources.
Coming from a Third-World-Country and with a financially challenged upbringing leaves a mark that sometimes makes you doubt your worth and overwork yourself to prove yourself.
I thank the Lord for holding me up when I couldn’t hold myself.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
JP Consulting Service was born from the desire to use God’s blessing to serve others.
I am learning to balance between keeping a servant heart without allowing others to push my boundaries.
I offer several services: Bookkeeping, Tax Preparation, Immigration process assistance, Translation (English/Spanish), and Notary Public.
I specialize in Bookkeeping for Medium and Small entities.
I am a Jesus Christ Disciple, and I do my best to model His way of life.
I go the extra mile when assisting my clients. I do care about what they care about, so take the time to get to know what their goals are and how we can work together to accomplish them.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
Above all, God deserves all the credit, the glory.
I am nothing without Him.
My parents, Lourdes Bonilla and Francisco Peguero.
They raised me with great values, instilling in me the importance of being compassioned.
My sister, Wendolin Peguero.
She is the most patient sister in the world. She has always been there, ready to listen to my ups and downs.
My daughter, Camila Jaczynski.
Even though she is a kid, she is always telling me that I can do it.
My friends who have been there, cheering me on and lending a hand and ears whenever I have needed it, even when I didn’t realize what I needed.
I have a longest list than this:
Michelle French
Kathleen Callahan
Kelly Tharp
Melissa Zimmerman
Xiomara Rivera
Zoi Callahan
Carmina Rodriguez
Nikki Robinson
