Hi Justin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
In January 2024 I was looking into sim racing and figuring out what was involved in building a sim rig. I discovered Podium1 Racing and I also discovered that they were only 9 miles from my house. Podium1 Racing builds turn key sim rigs. I set up an appointment with Kathy at Podium1 Racing to check out their turn key sim rigs. I made a purchase that day for a Podium1 P2 sim racing rig. I also asked Kathy where I could go in Nashville for sim racing. She informed me that there was nowhere in Nashville to go sim racing. I also asked her if there were sim racing arcades, she said, yes and that’s when I really started diving deep into bringing this concept to Nashville. It took about two years to get the doors open with finding a space that would work, finding an architect, finding a general contractor and figuring out the food and beverage aspect, I chose to do food and beverage for an elevated experience. I have roughly been open for six weeks now and the word is getting out. I have a lot of repeat customers and have also been hosting car meets. The Nashville car community is responding and are very excited for this concept.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Yes, so far thing are going well. We have a lot repeat racers, parties booked and a lot of excitement about this concept.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I worked in collision repair and love working with cars. Collision repair was not my first career. I spent 15 years working in commercial photography with 10 of the years in Los Angeles. That was an amazing experience and one of my proudest accomplishments. I don’t think anything sets me apart from others. I saw a opportunity to bring an exciting concept to Nashville and went for it!
