Hi Justin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
In 2022, my wife, Malissa, and I purchased Let’s Get Moving! and are continuing the legacy. I have been working in the senior healthcare market since 2014 and, most recently, was the owner of a successful in-home care business with locations in Nashville and Chattanooga. I’ve always had a passion for serving seniors since childhood, bringing joy to their lives while meeting their unique needs. I graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work. Subsequently, I earned a Master of Science in Social Work degree from the University of Tennessee in Nashville. This gives me both a compassion perspective and a project-management, systems perspective. Since the acquisition, the service model of Let’s Get Moving! has expanded to cater to all clients who want to experience the excellence of move management!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Purchasing an existing business is full of challenges and obstacles that you must overcome from day one. Every business owner has a way of doing things differently, and upon acquisition, there were many changes and updates that needed to be made to the daily operations and processes. This is challenging mainly because you cannot simply stop the business from running while making the changes, but must make the changes while simultaneously keeping the business operations running. It’s definitely a balancing act!
Additionally, turnover is bound to happen with any business acquisition, and our experience was no different. However, with some extra elbow grease and an invested core team, we have not only overcome those role changes but have also added several more as our team continues to grow.

I’m the owner and operator of Let’s Get Moving!, based in Brentwood/Middle Tennessee. We’re a move-management and senior transition business, and I’m proud to say we’ve been helping people through some of the biggest changes of their lives for over 20 years. I’m proud of our team—not only for their professionalism and skill (in areas such as packing, logistics, and project management), but also for their empathy. Handling move management with care, especially when people are letting go of things they’ve held for decades, or handling estate dispersal, is emotionally sensitive. Our team is trained and suited for that.
I’m also proud that we don’t just do the physical moving. We help with decision-making: what stays, what goes, what is emotionally important, what’s practical. We handle the planning, logistics, packing/unpacking, staging, and other related tasks. Many clients tell us that having a partner in the process reduces their anxiety and frees them to focus on what matters.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout as a teen. This felt like a great accomplishment at that time and a huge feeling of fulfillment in reaching a big milestone. I still utilize some of these skills today, which help me think outside the box as a business owner.
