Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaylyn Lovin.
Hi Kaylyn, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’m a world traveler and I love to move all over the U.S! As a child, I was always fairly different, I didn’t enjoy social interaction as much as my peers and was always kind of quiet and kept to myself. I always had to biggest imagination, I loved art and food and culture and slowly growing into adulthood I found so much passion for all of these things. My father was gone with the military a lot and he would always send me postcards and pictures from wherever he was in the world and I always told myself someday I’ll do those things! I wanted to experience the world and I knew as soon as I turned 18 that’s exactly what I would do.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
My journey has been tough, much like others. I had a tough childhood; my mother wasn’t in the picture and my dad was gone a lot with the military. My grandparents actually raised me for a good portion of my life.
Money was always tight but I was loved beyond belief and I think that’s what kept us going.
I became a model at the age of 15 and was immediately thrown into the industry. I walked on over 40 catwalks and was in a movie, as well as a TV series. As soon as I got the chance, I hit the road to California.
I dropped out my first year of college and moved by myself! I told myself I’d make it.
Freshly moved to Cali I would commute every day to Los Angeles, I wanted to be booked so badly. every open call for Wilhelmina, I was there. The harsh reality of LA though is that it’s hard and brutal and sometimes it can absolutely consume you, and I was consumed. I decided to take a break from modeling and continue to travel.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m most known for traveling! all of my friends and relatives contact me asking where I am at the moment because you truly never know! I take advantage of the cheap flight and hotel deals! I’m not afraid of traveling alone, it builds character.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is just enjoying quality time with my grandparents. my papaw recent passed away and just going back in my memory to him making me and my nana soup beans and cornbread makes me feel at ease.
