Meet Kira Lynn of Wanna Spoon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kira Lynn.

Hi Kira, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I originally moved from Canada to pursue my music career. I am primarily a singer-songwriter with my latest song releases being “Colorado” and “Deeper” which you can find on apple music or Spotify. Now it’s hard to believe that I own a cereal bar! If anything, it’s taught me you can have more than one dream. I grew up eating cereal with my dad and I wrote a business plan and came up with the name Wanna Spoon years ago. It was something I talked about for so long, I guess I somehow manifested it!

The stars aligned when I met Steve Kovach and his wife Alane Kovach. At the time, they were opening up a restaurant named Emery on 12th South, and they had a house with the property that they didn’t know what to do with… and so I told my whole idea. They loved it, and now the rest is history! The goal with Wanna Spoon is to hopefully franchise one day, but for now, I am just learning as I go with this being my first business venture, and I am so excited to see where it all leads.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Since this is my first business, it definitely has not been all smooth sailing for me. From payroll to inventory, to learning QuickBooks, to learning all about the food industry… there is just so much to learn.

I am thankful I have 2 business partners I can call up whenever to ask questions, but they aren’t always physically here which sometimes can be challenging.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Wanna Spoon?
Wanna Spoon is the first cereal bar to come to Nashville, TN. Wanna Spoon offers your nostalgic classic bowls of cereal or you can mix whatever and however many types of cereal you want into an ice cream swirl or into a milkshake. This cereal bar is known for its mural walls, from a huge life-size cow you can actually milk, or sitting on a gigantic spoon where it reads “Spooned in Nashville”.. we have all the sayings. I am proud of all we did when I look around seeing all the kids and families smiling enjoying the atmosphere we tried our best to create.

I want this place to be a fun experience for all and have you leaving with a great flashback to your childhood memory of eating your favorite bowl of cereal. We also offer amazing coffee, including our signature cereal milk latte! From cereal bowls to ice cream, to milkshakes, to coffee, to cereal treats, to s’mores, to our extensive line of merchandise… we tried to create something for everyone to enjoy!
