Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Dunnebacke
Hi Lauren, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I went to Lipscomb University where I majored in fashion merchandising and minored in business and marketing. My dream was to own my own boutique one day, not knowing that at 23 the doors to Bates Boutique would open. I was working at a consignment store when the little spot next door went for rent, one day I went over and just was “looking”. After I left and thought on it for a while I had a gut feeling telling me to go for my dreams and here we are 8 years later in the same small spot and quickly growing out of it.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
From 2017-2021 I grew a little every year things were great then I got pregnant and my priorities changed and the economy changed and in early 2023 I was thinking I don’t know how much longer I can do this.. in June of 2024 I began making charm necklaces on TikTok live and they took off very quickly. In October of 2023 my friend Paige was let go of her full time and immediately came to work for Bates. In the last six months I have never worked so hard and long hours but we have had our best months and breaking so many goals and accomplishments.

We are a women’s clothing and accessories boutique! We carry sizes small – 3x, we ship all of the us canada UK & Australia. Our store front is open Tuesday – Saturday 10 to 5.

Success is working hard at what you love to do and being profitable doing it.
