Meet Lindsey Elliott of Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lindsey Elliott.

Hi Lindsey, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
My journey to natural health started after our first child was born. I remember looking at our dinner one evening and telling my husband I wanted better for our children. At that point, I poured myself into research on how to change our lifestyle towards one of health and wellness. We changed our diets; We began regular exercise; We started to decrease the toxins in our environment. And at this point, I was introduced to essential oils. They were the perfect piece to our health puzzle. We started to incorporate them into our everyday life. They become our go-to for both physical and emotional health concerns. As you probably know, when you love something that works for you, you share it with others. I started sharing essential oils with friends and family. It became my passion for helping people I love get essential oils into their homes. The more I shared, the more people started using essential oils. Our oil community was growing, and so was our income. After a few years of hard work, I rose to one of the top leadership roles within my company. I am passionate about natural health and a holistic approach, so I also became a certified health coach during this time. This allows me to help people solve their health issues and goals using a holistic approach. I love diving in with them to address root causes and change their habits. My role within my company allowed us to retire my husband and move with our 5 children to Mexico for over one year. It was a time we will always treasure and made a huge impact on each of us. It has also allowed me to start non-profit helping children in Belize go to school through a scholarship program. I love that we get to pursue our passions because of the success we have had with sharing essential oils.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has had its share of struggles. I have to work on my mindset daily. My thoughts always try to hold me back from getting outside my comfort zone. I have undergone different training to understand the power of the mind and how to stop letting my limiting beliefs and negative thoughts hold me back. But it is still a daily struggle! I have lost leaders along the way. It is hard to work closely with someone and see them leave. I understand that people come and go, but that process is always hard.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a Wellness Advocate. My primary responsibility is to educate others on essential oils. I continually work hard to learn more on this subject so I can always provide the best education. I love working with individuals who are brand new to essential oils. It is so fun to see them experience oils for the first time and truly start to understand the depth and breadth of how they can use them.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love so many things about Franklin; It is extremely family-friendly; The downtown is so cute and welcoming. There are plenty of things to do without it feeling like a huge city. My biggest complaint is the growth! It has grown so much over the past several years, so getting used to the increase in people and traffic is hard.
