Today we’d like to introduce you to Maddie And Carly Perry And Hubert
Hi Maddie and Carly, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Maddie’s journey began in 2019 when she launched a story series on her Instagram called “Sunday Submissions.” Inspired by the idea of connecting with her followers, she invited them to share personal stories – or confessions – on various topics such as their best date or most embarrassing moment. The stories were shared anonymously, allowing for a candid and fun space where Maddie could react and engage with her community.
As the series grew, it evolved into “The Tuesday Tea” and Maddie felt the need to create a platform that allowed for more in-depth conversations and reactions. This past September, she took a bold step and transitioned the series into a podcast format, where she could dive even deeper into the stories and elaborate on the “tea” that had become a hallmark of her relationship with her audience.
Recognizing the value of a dynamic duo, Maddie sought a co-host who could bring additional insight and energy to the conversation. Her friend Carly came to mind as the perfect fit. With Carly on board, they both look forward to enriching the podcast by bouncing ideas off each other and creating an engaging conversation that resonates with their audience. Together, they have embarked on this new chapter, ready to share even more captivating stories and reactions with their listeners.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road. Transitioning from Instagram to a podcast has been challenging, especially with the learning curve of audio editing and recording. Both Maddie and Carly faced a lot of trial and error as they navigated the technical aspects, and balancing these new skills with their vision added pressure. But through it all, they’ve embraced the chaos and found plenty of laughs along the way!
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
What makes the girls most proud of is the strong bond they’ve built with their listeners, creating a safe space for open dialogue and authenticity. Both Maddie and Carly have been through a lot in their relationships, including broken engagements, which is how they initially bonded and became friends. This shared experience allows them to create a special, intimate connection with their audience, particularly girls in their 20s and 30s who look to them for guidance in navigating the the dating world. Their “big sister” vibe sets them apart from other creators, as they provide not just entertainment, but also heartfelt support and advice.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Both Maddie and Carly have faced significant risks in their lives, such as ending their engagements and relocating across the country to cities where they didn’t know anyone. Those choices were intimidating, but they opened up new opportunities and experiences that have shaped who they are.
One major risk Maddie took was transitioning from Instagram to podcasting. It involved investing time in learning new skills, like audio editing, and navigating an entirely different platform. There was uncertainty about how it would resonate with her audience, but she felt it was essential to deepen their conversations and share more authentic stories. It was also a risk for Carly to open up and put herself online. Her life before the podcast was very private – now everything from her dating life to her personal thoughts and opinions are out there for the world!
All that being said, they’ve found that stepping outside their comfort zone has led to some of their most rewarding experiences!
