Today we’d like to introduce you to Madison Allshouse.
Hi Madison, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
So I’m 23 years old, originally from Fort Myers, Florida! I moved to Tennessee when I was 16 years old and I’ve been here ever since. I have always had an entrepreneurial mindset, even from a young age. When I was 12-14, I learned how to use an editing software and started creating Facebook header photos for small businesses in my area. When I was 15 up until I was 17, I started a magazine focused on politics and pop culture. I worked a normal 9-5 job from ages 18-20 and quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I branched out into Social Media Marketing by taking a position with a local Realtor in 2018 and worked there for about a year, then stepped out on my own and opened my own agency, House of Prieto. I’ve owned House of Prieto ever since! My team specializes in media marketing, graphic design and website copy! In early in 2020, I started my car detailing company, Elite Auto Detail on a whim. I was bored with my current projects and was ready to take on something new. Within the first month of starting Elite, it blew up. We now serve over 75 residents in the middle Tennessee area every week!
I’ve started lots of other projects since then, like my podcast, “The Bitch Mindset” where I talk about all things business and life, my community, Girl with a Business, where we bring like-minded females together to connect, learn and grow. And my newest project, Nyx & Crow. An alternative boutique located in the heart of Downtown Clarksville!
My life has been a roller coaster ride of challenges but I’m thankful for each and every one of them!
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not. I’ve faced a lot of different challenges. One of the biggest ones being people’s perception of you. When I first started Girl with a Business, it gained popularity quick, and by default, so did I. I thought it was the coolest thing ever until I realized that 1000 smiling supporters also meant a handful of people that won’t like you for you. It was really hard to get passed the negativity. Really hard. I let it get to me a lot, to the point where I would just completely ghost social media and not come back for weeks at a time. The biggest thing I learned from this entire experience thus far is that the people they disagree with my choices or my businesses are entitled to their own opinion however it’s not on me to carry. My mom once told me, “Other people’s opinions of me is none of my business” and it’s true! If it’s not positively affecting my future and my goals, it holds no place in my life.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I consider myself a jack of all trades, so to speak. I dabble in a little bit of everything! I’m shifting my goals towards becoming more of an influencer so I can teach others to run multiple profitable businesses. My day to day life consists of maintaining calls/inquiries/appointments within my detailing company, keeping up and staying in the loop of posts and questions in Girl with a Business, Delegating House of Prieto client work to my team and then browsing new inventory for Nyx & Crow!
Running multiple businesses is NOT easy by any means, but it’s not impossible. I learned very early on that I wouldn’t be able to achieve multiple streams of income without building a team of employees that I trust with my vision to execute things! Now I mainly just oversee things and my team runs the day to day operations!
