Meet Makayla and Stacey Knight of Hippington

Today we’d like to introduce you to Makayla and Stacey Knight. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Makayla started this business during her junior year of high school. Her goal was to help other small business owners expand their reach. Upon graduating high school Makayla told her mom, Stacey she wanted to open a brick and mortar to help other entrepreneurs have a place to sell their products year round. During an event around the historic courthouse square in Springfield, TN Makayla and Stacey found the perfect spot to open Hippington’s first brick and mortar. Makayla started college at Belmont University that Fall and Stacey helped run the shop while Makayla was in class. Nothing like running a business while attending college full time, right? Hippington was able to grow, expand, and partner with the Springfield community for 3 wonderful years.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Sadly, Hippington’s time in Springfield came to an end due to the sale of their building. Makayla and Stacey had plans to relocate Hippington closer to downtown Nashville, however tornadoes and covid had other plans. After what felt like an endless waiting period Makayla and Stacey found the perfect new location for Hippington in Clarksville, TN. Makayla and Stacey got to reopen Hippington on November 19th, 2021! We have been overwhelmed with the support of the community thus far and look forward to making Clarksville our new home.

We are a women’s clothing and accessories boutique that specializes in one of a kind pieces and curated looks for women. Our clothing selection offers styles for a variety of lifestyle needs such as; professional attire, special occasions, every day looks and at home comfort. Hippington is known for partnering with other small business owners that hand craft our jewelry and accessories. What sets us apart from others is that we try to learn the story behind each product and offer one of a kind pieces that are unique to our store. What’s next?
Our short term plans for the future include expanding the line of products we currently offer. In order to expand our product selection we will be partnering with more small business owners. Our long term goals include the possibility of multiple store locations.
