Today we’d like to introduce you to Mary Pinson.
Hi Mary, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was a fashion designer major at the University of Alabama. I am now a floral designer and started doing flowers when I joined the flower guild at Christ Church. When I was young and first married, I always volunteered to do the flowers for parties we were giving and then I was asked to chair fundraising events. That mixed with helping other designers taught me what I needed to know about floral and event design.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I started out doing this very part-time while I raised my children, I love the creative aspect of my job. Smooth road so far!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a floral and event designer. I do weddings and events all over the south. I have a floral Studio in downtown Macon Georgia where I teach floral workshops. I also travel to speak to groups and do floral demonstrations.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
Always think outside of the box and always be open to change the way you do business. The pandemic is proof of that. I shifted from events to online floral workshops and daily deliveries.

Mary’s work is beyond superior. She did the flowers for Ted’s and my engagement party and I could not have been more pleased.
