Meet Megan Pentecost In Flight Entertainment Productions of Sumner county

Today we’d like to introduce you to Megan Pentecost In Flight Entertainment Productions.

Hi Megan, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve been a touring singer for 30 years and got into circus arts when I was hired as a singer and dancer for Cirque Dreams Holidaze at the Grand Ole Opry. The circus performers were so nice and would teach me aerial arts, and I discovered my passion for it. I was on tour with them for a while, but then COVID shut down our shows. I needed something to do so I started teaching aerial arts in Gallatin TN at Centerstage performing arts academy, where I met my business partners. I discovered my love for teaching and no longer wanted to tour, but I still loved performing, just wanted to do it locally. One day I was talking with Ella about how I wanted to start a company and perform locally but aerial arts rigs are so expensive. She said “I’ll go in on it with you!” So we purchased our first aerial rig and started performing at local farmers markets, events, festivals, anything that would have us so we could promote the company. We eventually have built relationships through tireless work and making connections, and now we are thrilled to have a regular show on Saturdays at plaza mariachi, among other events throughout the year. We have been thrilled to be able to make our passion into our business.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
We have learned so much along the way. Learning our value was huge. We love what we do so we didn’t know how much to charge for our skills. But our overhead is so huge, we had to learn who we are and what our value is. Figuring out on our own how to get our LLC, saving up our pennies to purchase unique apparatuses, figuring out the legalities of owning a business, helping people understand what we do and how hard it is, while still being creative to put together shows. That being said, we also put on full production shows. Every year we put on a Circus Nutcracker, which is a huge production and so much work, but we love it so we’ve made it an annual show. We are also doing “Through the looking Glass” an Alice in wonderland themed circus show, this July 11th and 12th!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
We put on up scale circus arts performances and ambience for events, festivals, parties, corporate events, etc. we also put together full production circus shows. We specialize in variety and quality. We offer a wide array of entertainment including aerial silks, aerial hammock, Lyra, duo performances, acrobatics, live music with full bands, ballet on pointe, many other dance styles, fire performances, and more from some of the best performers in town. We are most proud of the uniqueness we bring to the performance community. We combine multiple aspects to create something new. For instance, I sing and do aerial silks at the same time, my husband will get in the aerial silks upside down and play violin at the same time. We love to try new things that we personally haven’t seen before and see if we can make it happen.

What matters most to you?
What matters most to me personally as a business owner is creating and unforgettable show or event for the audience. I perform to serve, not to be served, so my goal is to inspire people of all ages. We are a family friendly company where all families can come together and enjoy their experience.
