Today we’d like to introduce you to Michael Hamm

Hi Michael, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Hello there and thank you for having me! My name is Michael Hamm and I love producing videos.

I have been creating videos ever since I can remember. Looking back at my childhood I remember creating little Indiana Jones inspired films with my brothers and friends around the neighborhood. I’d direct and shoot them on my little Sony Handycam then later spend hours behind the computer piecing them all together. During that time I was developing an eye and a love for filmmaking. This experience and more lead me to pursue a career in film.

My passion for filmmaking lead me to graduate from film school(Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film. 2019) with concentrations in cinematography & editing. During my time there I was approached by a number of fellow students to shoot their films and was delighted! I successfully volunteered on 64 student films in various capacities while also working as PA on bigger professional sets. A handful of these student films including my own films went onto national film festivals.

I started my professional career in mid-2019, but honestly it started a few years before that. Since graduating from film school I have been honored to help produce tons of videos for businesses, professionals, and events. My professional work includes television commercials, product videos, profile videos, HGTV Shows, documentaries, recap videos, business training videos, doctor profile videos, real estate videos(Over 600),several weddings, and so much more. I am also an FAA Licensed drone pilot with 6 years of experience flying drones.

I love what I do and It often shows as I smile behind the camera on every shoot I’m part of. Clients love it!

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I am a perfectionist as well as a creative problem solver.

A challenge:
I traveled solo to a couple places out of state to produce video vignettes for a company. The experience was great but also very challenging because I was working as a one-man-band during the entire production and post production process. I was responsible for making the shoot days happen including the shooting schedule, equipment, lighting, dual camera shooting, directing talent, recording audio, filming various spots of aerial coverage, and etc. Challenging to say the least, but I loved it! I especially loved the thrill of making the day happen all by myself! They were very pleased with my hard work ethic, my professionalism in direction, attention to details, and the various deliverables I produced. I went onto doing a lot more of those shoots.

In short; I have always learned from the obstacles I’ve faced. The challenges I have faced have made me to become a more skilled, stronger, and confident individual (Personally & Professionally)
