Today we’d like to introduce you to Naomie Krause.
Hi Naomie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I grew up In Germany with an American mom and a German dad and ever since I can remember I wanted to come to the States and be an actress. I would act by myself in front of my mirror playing different characters in different scenarios just having the time of my life. I stuck with that dream but I didn’t really want to study acting itself.
Over the years I found I had a deep desire to go see the world so when I was 14, I went to Brazil for a couple of months and the year after to Spain for half a year. I feel in love with learning languages, getting to know cultures, and listening to reggaetón haha! I wanted to explore more so I finished high school, took a gap year, and traveled through South America.
The people I met and the places I saw completely changed the way I view and live life. Getting to hear and be part of people’s stories made me want to share their incredible experiences. Languages open the door to so much knowledge and enable you to really dive into a culture and connect with the people there so I made it a priority to invest into these languages.
Then a couple years back my brother asked me to shoot a music video for him and I fell in love with it. I realized that being creative could be used in so many ways connected to film, behind as well as in front of the camera so I decided to major in film production and minor in acting.
A year and many struggles later, God opened the door for me to go to college in Nashville. It was truly a miracle how everything came together. From there on I put all my energy into learning and refining my skills in all the different departments in film.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has been like Argentinean caracoles, up and down, left and right, and always with an incline. Money of course being a main struggle. I had no idea how to pay for college and even less how I was gonna pay my bills. To sum it up, it was really all God’s provision. I saved up as much as I could, got scholarships, and from there on it was one miracle after another. People taking me into their homes, big jobs opening up, and even more, people just being gracious and kind.
It was hard leaving my whole family and life behind. I had always loved traveling but this time it would be a definite move. Not having been able to see my family in 2 years has been difficult and often lonely. But even so, I’ve never actually felt lonely because of the amazing people God put in my life.
And even with all the ups and downs, and with downs I mean sitting in my bed crying and not knowing what to do, I just LOVE life and all the incredible things I get to do. Trusting God has been difficult as I always wanna figure things out by myself but I could have never gotten to where I am now, on my own!
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Now I work with several film companies as an Assistant Director, Assistant Camera, or any position needed on set. I also work as an actress and model. Every day on set is different and I just love learning and being creative in so many different ways. Apart from that, it is amazing to work with artists I meet, creating something that hasn’t been made before with someone who is equally as passionate. And I’ve realized that creativity is just solving problems 24/7.
I do a lot of music videos and am currently working on a big project for a Latin artist. The best thing about music videos is that you can break any film rule and be creative without limits! Also set is more fun because you don’t have to worry about sound and can jam to music the whole time.
Speaking 5 languages has made it possible for me to connect with artists from all around the world and I am so excited to work internationally as well as to do acting/voice acting in different languages.
I learned that when preparation meets opportunity, success will follow.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
There are many moments I love looking back on but this one might have been the weird beginning of my passion for languages. When I was about 5 years old, a Greek family moved to my town and their daughter started going to my kindergarten. She didn’t speak a single word of German nor did I speak any Greek but we became friends anyway and played together every day. After a couple of days, I started telling my mom proudly that my friend had taught me Greek and that I had taught her German.
So, the next time she came over to play, my mom asked us if we would show her our language skills and we happily started talking to each other in gibberish, both thinking that we had learned the other’s language. Even without a common language, we still understood each other and that was the most precious thing to me.

Exitos saludos…
