Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Cordell
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My passion for video production started in high school, making sketch comedy videos with childhood friends. At the time, I never saw video production as a full-time career option. That changed during my senior year, when I suffered my seventh concussion in three years, forcing me to step away from playing football and rugby. Unable to play, I was asked to film for the football team, and by the end of the season, I realized that video production was something I wanted to pursue seriously.
This led me to major in TV and Film Production at Western Kentucky University. After graduating, I jumped into the freelance world, working on a wide range of projects, including music videos, commercials, and even a few Food Network shows. These experiences broadened my perspective on the industry and inspired me to start my own production company.
The early years of Corner Media were slow—much of my time was still spent freelancing for other companies—but those years were invaluable for learning the ropes and steadily growing the business. Fast-forward to today, Corner Media has evolved tremendously. Over the past five years, I’ve brought on three additional owners, each bringing unique strengths to the team. Together, we’ve transformed the company into a well-oiled machine, far from where we began.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Overall, the journey has been relatively smooth, but even the best highways have their share of potholes—and that’s certainly been true for me while building Corner Media. The biggest challenge I faced was my lack of experience. Not having experience doesn’t mean you can’t succeed, but it does mean you have to recognize how much you need to learn. Thinking you already know it all will only lead to more setbacks.
Most of the challenges I faced early on stemmed from not fully understanding how to run a company, manage clients, or lead a functioning film set. However, as I gained more experience and kept learning, those rough patches became less frequent. Things really started to click when I surrounded myself with people who brought the skills and perspectives I lacked. They’ve become the missing pieces that helped Corner Media run more effectively.
Not every day on set is perfect, but with a strong, reliable team in place, you can tackle challenges quickly and get back on track. It’s those lessons—and the people you work with—that keep the road ahead as smooth as possible.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Corner Media is a full-service video production company specializing in commercial and music video work. We manage projects from start to finish, offering a seamless process from concept development to the final product. One of our biggest strengths is our roster of incredibly talented directors, each with a distinct creative style. This allows us to provide clients with a range of unique options tailored to their vision and brand.
What sets us apart is the team behind the work. I’m most proud of the directors and freelancers we collaborate with consistently. They bring unmatched passion and dedication to every project, always going above and beyond to deliver exceptional results. Their commitment ensures that our clients not only see their investment pay off but also walk away with a product that elevates their own brand.
At Corner Media, we don’t just create videos—we build stories and experiences that resonate. Whether it’s a commercial, music video, or any other creative project, we’re here to bring our clients’ ideas to life with professionalism, artistry, and care.
What are your plans for the future?
It’s hard to believe that October marked five years since I started Corner Media. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned along the way is that long-term plans rarely unfold exactly as you envision them. In fact, the work we’re doing now is at a level I originally thought would take much longer to achieve.
Looking ahead, my main focus is to keep building on the momentum we’ve created. The goal is to continue attracting high-tier commercial projects and, as opportunities arise, scale the business to meet new demands in the future. While growth is always exciting, I’ve learned the importance of letting it happen organically and staying true to reason I started Corner Media in the first place.
