Meet Paige Rose

Today we’d like to introduce you to Paige Rose.

Hi Paige, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I’ve been singing as long as I can remember and started writing some of my own songs when I was around ten years old. It wasn’t until I went to college that I really started to pursue singing and writing my own material full time! I’m originally from Sioux City, IA and have been in Nashville for just shy of four years. Throughout my time here, I’ve been writing and performing as much as I can and am preparing for my first EP to come out in early 2022!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any musician has had a smooth road, haha. You get used to hearing the word “no” a lot and learn how to turn it into a positive. After I first moved to Nashville and saw how talented everyone was, & I truly didn’t know if I had what it took to make it out in music city. I remember calling my mom one night and talking to her about it and I will never forget what she told me “The greatest success comes out of being told no.” and I’ve carried that with me everyday. Now, I try to hear “no” as a ‘not yet’ and work to turn those no’s into yes’.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I would say something that sets me apart is my performance skills. To me that has always been my favorite part. Writing is therapeutic for me and a chance to get out what I need to say in that moment, but getting the opportunity to see how that message can affect others is truly an indescribable experience that I would never trade for the world. I think to date something I’m most proud of is my recent release “Just a House”. This wasn’t a release that I wanted to have a lot of production in or anything like that. In fact, when I wrote it I had just found out that my parents were selling my childhood home. Watching the life this song has taken on has been something special and it even landed me my first radio debut.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I guess my mom is just a woman of great wisdom, haha just like she says “the greatest success comes out of being told no” she also says “the answer to every un-asked question is no.” & she is 100% right. I think that we all get in our heads about what we feel like we are qualified to do or not. I think it’s important to let other people tell you no because sometimes people tell you yes and it allows you to grow in new ways that you may have thought you weren’t necessarily ready for yet.
