Meet Quentin Renouf

Today we’d like to introduce you to Quentin Renouf.

Quentin, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
At the age of 11, I educated myself on the guitar with my father’s Aria Pro II electric guitar while learning the guitar parts of songs that appeared in the video games ‘Tony Hawk’s’ by ear, with the help of music videos or tabs on the internet.

Several years later, I started to create my own guitar parts, took guitar lessons, learned music theory and performed.

At the age of 18/19, I joined a pop-rock band with 3 other musicians with which I have created/performed music and recorded 3 songs in studio and I collaborated with other people.

Several years later, I took the decision to make my own way and I digitally released ‘Loneliness’, an album of 10 pop-rock/folk musics. Then, I digitally released 5/6 chill musics (under the name of ‘ATMOSE’) and ‘Une dernière fois’, an folk/pop-rock EP of 5 songs inspired by This Wild Life.

In 2018, I worked for Paul-Edern Chauvière and Eddy Rolls as a director, composer, studio musician and musical loop creator.

December 8, 2020 I digitally released ‘Soundscapes’, an EP of 4 musics inspired by Tycho.

In May 2020 I worked for Eutherpe (a French singer) on a music for her song ‘Hey Man!’ which was released in June, 4, 2020.

In March 2021 I worked for Shishir Bhanot (a German singer) on a reimagined instrumental for his song ‘Nazrein’ which was released later in the year and I digitally released ‘Charmes cachés’, a synth-wave music inspired by Darius.

In 2022, I’m working full-time on music as an author, composer, performer and musician. I’m based in a French town called ‘Blainville-sur-Orne’ in Calvados, Normandy and I’m bookable/available as a professional. I’m also looking for professional musical jobs everywhere.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road! Several times I lost sight of my goals. For example, I became an employee when I didn’t want to and I became a professional photographer…but it served me.

As well, I fought against depressions and anxieties but I worked on it with a psychiatrist and a psychologist and I fought against physical issues but I worked on it with a mesotherapist and a physiotherapist.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I always been in love with Nashville specifically for his music scene. For example, my main music influences come from here with artists such as Hayley Williams, Zac and Josh Farro, or even Taylor Acorn.

This city makes me dream specifically through their sounds.
