Meet Rizz of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kris (Rizz) Rodriguez.

Hi Kris (Rizz), so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?

I grew up in Reno, NV, making music with friends after football practice and handing out mixtapes at school. What started as a creative escape soon became my passion. From building a studio out of closet doors to recording in legendary studios, music became my purpose.

A chance connection with Troy Luccketta Jr.—and later his father, Troy Sr. of Tesla—changed everything. When Troy Sr. called and told me to come to Nashville, I packed my bags and never looked back. That’s where Rizz & The Believerz was born.

Since then, we’ve recorded with legends like Steve Cropper, Squidly Cole, Peter Keys & more, even traveling to Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, Jamaica. Today, through our independent label Blessings & Love, Inc., we’re building a movement grounded in perseverance, positivity, and belief.

The journey has had its challenges, but I’m grateful for every step—and excited for what’s ahead. My message is simple: Give it a go, and no matter how tough it gets—don’t stop tryin’.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

I don’t think any of our roads are meant to be smooth. That’s the beauty of it. It’s what builds resilience and tests our will. Without roadblocks and setbacks, we would never have to truly find our ‘why’—why we do what we do and how much it really means to us. I like to think the road to failure is the same road to success; they’re not separate roads…

I would say the biggest struggle for me at this point in my life is really honoring my own story and realizing it’s not going to look like anyone else’s. I see most of the people I grew up with now having kids, buying houses, new cars, etc. I could see it as me being behind in life, or I could look at it as me being right where I’m supposed to be, honoring the value in what I do.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?

I’m a singer and songwriter for Rizz & The Believerz, a collective of purpose-driven musicians creating positive, uplifting music for the masses. I write songs to remind people of the unique gifts they bring to the world. My goal is to inspire others to overcome self-doubt and fear while remembering how precious and special life truly is.

I Believe my specialty lies in maintaining a positive and optimistic mindset. My gift is connecting with people, no matter who they are. I genuinely love people and believe there’s something to learn from everyone. I’d like to think I’m known for being passionate about my art, and for being a genuine, and uplifting person. I LOVE making people smile, dance, and see the beauty within themselves.

I’m most proud of never giving up on my dreams as an artist and being of service through my nonprofit, Make Em Smile Foundation. What sets me apart from others is my willingness to help others. I can honestly say that my mission is simple: I want to make people’s lives better than they were before they met me, and give them a sense of hope, showing them that they can achieve anything if they truly put their heart and mind into it

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
GIVE IT A GO! I think If you really want to achieve anything in life you must be willing to take risk as they say “no risk no reward.” Life is too short to not take risk and most of the time the greatest experience’s and lessons we learn come from taking risk and facing our fears. I’ve definitely taken many risk in my life. whether it be risking how people will view me, loosing relationships, “failing” regardless i continue to put myself out there and continue to be optimistic knowing that were always one choice away from creating or achieving something great!
