Meet Sam Pizzuto of Southeast

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sam Pizzuto

Hi Sam, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up with a dad who was a product of the 1960’s meant that The Beatles were a household staple. The more I listened and the older I became the more inspired and fascinated I was with not only their musicianship, but the way their songs were recorded and sounded. By the age of 13 Geoff Emerick had become a hero of mine, and I wanted to record music no matter how primitive my setup was. Fast forward to 2018, and my high school band had put out our first single that would go on to reach a million streams all recorded in my parents basement. Following the release of that song the band moved to Tennessee so that I could study audio engineering. In 2022 I began working on a studio space in my home and 3 years later I’m open and looking for artists ready to record!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy getting my studio to where it is now, but I’ve kept my head down and hustled the last three years and I feel that it shows. I’m very grateful to have had some great friends and family pitch in and help me out in different ways.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I run a small home recording studio in Southeast Nashville. The premise of the studio is for smaller budget musicians and artists to have a space where they can feel inspired and creative while tracking their projects. My most known work is the track 2+2 by Brantwood, but I’ve had lots of fun working with local bands such as Honey Dagger, Still Here, and Maiden Mother Crone. There are a lot of self engineering/producing bands out there these days so I have my studio set up to be rented out without an engineer for a cheaper budget option in the city.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love the support local music receives from other small business in the city. One of my favorite collabs has been Gorilla Bizkits and WTF Zine. That’s the kind of stuff I love to see and hope I see more of in our future.

I still can’t find any kind words for our traffic issues and I will say it heavily affects my part of town.
