Meet Samantha Tritschler of Sam Loves Skincare

Today we’d like to introduce you to Samantha Tritschler.

Hi Samantha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
From a young age, the beauty industry captivated my imagination. Growing up in a family rooted in the values of hard work, I saw what went into running a successful business. My family has owned and operated a Landscaping company in Nashville since 1913, growing up we never felt the pressure to take over the business, but instead my parents instilled in us to do what makes us happy, but do it well. I did, however, inherit their strong entrepreneurial spirit. I always dreamed of being my own boss, inspired by their dedication and the idea of building something meaningful, my own way.

As a child, while other kids played in dirt and mud, I found joy in makeup, hair, and dressing up. My mom, a Mary Kay consultant back in the day, welcomed me into her world of beauty. I would tag along to meetings and makeup parties, absorbing everything about skincare and cosmetics. As I got older I became the go-to friend for hair and makeup, nurturing my early passion for esthetics.

I’m a gal of many passions, and dreamt of also becoming a teacher. I pursued my degree in childhood education while also working part time at a popular tourist destination here in Nashville. I’m the ultimate people person, and I loved getting to meet and talk to people from all over the world, that were here to enjoy my favorite city on earth. It was a part time job that turned into 8 years of my life. I grew within the company, going into management at only 23 years old. I owe a lot to that job, I learned so much about business, customer service, and how to balance a million things at once. Still I felt that push of wanting to have something that I could call my own.

As time went on, my friends would gather at my apartment for a little pampering, where they would let me do their lashes, wax their brows, and even cut their hair (thank you guys for always letting my practice on you!) In 2023, my older sister opened a hair salon on our families property in Kingston Springs, seeing the potential that an old horse tack barn could be something beautiful and life changing.

When I reached a pivotal moment in my career, my fiancé, friends, and family encouraged me to take the leap into beauty school. It was a turning point that changed my life. I was so scared to quit my job, leave behind the 401k, benefits, safety of having a normal job. I knew I would look back in life and regret it if I didn’t just do it. So I took the leap. I quit my job, I signed up for beauty school, I was so scared but excited. I really immersed myself into the experience, developing a deeper fascination for skin and the science behind it. I sought out additional education, eager to expand my knowledge and skills. Something clicked that this is what I was meant to do, I had never been happier and felt more at peace. I woke up everyday so excited to learn, practice, and absorb every bit of knowledge I could.

After graduating in April of 2024, I decided to go out on my own. I knew it wouldn’t be easy starting from the ground up, but it was now or never. I transformed the unused upstairs space of my sister’s salon into my esthetics oasis throughout the summer of 2024. It was a labor of love, and not to be cliche but it was made of my blood, sweat, and tears. I couldn’t have done it without the help and support of my fiance and family. We spent every second of free time working on replacing the floors, building furniture, or revamping the electrical. I am so proud of the space I’ve created, and it is such an incredible feeling when someone visits for the first time and the first thing they say is “It’s so cute in here!” It means so much that others find it as charming and relaxing as I hoped it would be. The community has also really embraced and supported me. I am so appreciative of that.

I am constantly perfecting my craft, taking courses, learning each and every day. Education has always been a pillar in my life, from wanting to be a teacher to often teaching myself new ways to do things. The world of aesthetics and skincare is ever-changing, and I want to always challenge myself by immersing myself in education.

Today, I proudly stand as my own boss, grateful for every twist and turn that led me to this moment. Life may have thrown challenges my way, but they only strengthened my resolve and passion for this beautiful journey. I owe a lot to my family, always pushing me to pursue whatever I love to do. I look forward to continuing to grow, learn, and share my love for beauty with others.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Yes and no,
I was taught to always push through life’s challenges, taking every setback as a moment to reflect and use it to make myself stronger.
One of those challenges has been my health. I was diagnosed with Crohn’s at infancy. Growing up I had to learn to not let this illness rule my life, and use everyday as an opportunity to choose to be happy. It has been a determining factor for a lot of my biggest life decisions, including quitting my job, going back to school, and starting over. I am grateful to be an advocate for the UC and Crohn’s community. Not everyday is easy, but I can do things that I may not have thought would be possible a few years ago.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Sam Loves Skincare?
I started Sam Loves Skincare in September of 2024. I offer it all. Facials, curated skincare routines, lash lifts, custom brow services, body waxing, and spray tanning. I enjoy customizing and tailoring each facial to each specific client. My approach is definitely holistic, I don’t have many fancy machines, or anything like that. I truly believe my hands and knowledge are the two most powerful things that I can use.
My favorite service is any facial that includes dermaplaning along with facial cupping and lymphatic massage. I am also loving anything involving Korean skincare and products for my clients. I put my whole heart into every service and person that walks into my suite. I have worked hard to create a place that is comfortable, peaceful, beautiful, and can feel like an escape from the Nashville bubble.
I am located in the rolling hills of Kingston Springs, the drive into my salon is beautiful. We are surrounded by horses, fields, forrest, and the Harpeth River. It is truly a tranquil place, I love to hear the birds chirping while I work. It is like a built in sound machine.
I love making people feel beautiful, confident, but also giving them a place to truly relax and feel pampered.

Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
If you feel like you want to make a change in your life, listen to that gut feeling and do it. Enjoy the beautiful things.
