Meet Sangeeta Turlapati of Natural Cleaning Services

Hi Sangeeta, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Hi, thank you so much for this opportunity! Natural Cleaning Services is a residential cleaning company that uses nontoxic natural cleaning products. We are a small, locally-based company in Murfreesboro, TN! I started this company in October of 2021. At that time, I left my job at the bank to spend more time with my toddlers. As someone who likes to stay busy, I wanted to do something flexible where I could set my hours and have a work/life balance. Then I got this crazy idea to start cleaning and organizing others’ homes. I have always found cleaning and organizing very therapeutic, which many might not relate with. The idea of transforming someone’s living space and taking a load off their hands is very fulfilling for me. I started with a Facebook page to advertise and gathered my favorite cleaning products, many of which I use in my home. My first cleaning job was an Airbnb in Murfreesboro; the rest was history! I am so humbled and honored so many individuals have trusted us in their homes. Today, I have a few individuals who work with me and I am beyond grateful for their commitment and dedication! Most days, I can stay home with my children and manage the appointments and logistics of the company. I am very thankful to my staff, who go above and beyond every clean! If I could give any word of advice or motivation to anyone looking to start a company or do something outside of the box, I say go for it, now is definitely the time!

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The biggest obstacle is having a stable staff and booking appointments responsibly. We get many requests, but it’s important to me that our work is quality orientated and not quantity! The biggest lesson that I learned and continue to work on is good communication and customer service skills, whether it be with my staff or clients. It is definitely at the center of any business!

The biggest thing that sets us apart is that we use all-natural products! I have been a firm believer in using nontoxic products in the home before I started this company, so it was not difficult for me to implement. Clean products are not only good for us, but for the environment as well. What we are most proud of is the ability to do what we love! I mean, what’s better than that!

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
There is so much to do in Nashville! We moved here a year ago and have never looked back! I love all the local places and community feels of our city!
