Today we’d like to introduce you to Savanna Kirby.
Hi Savanna, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
I like to say I practically grew up on stage. I started as a dancer at the age of 3. It wasn’t until I was 11 years old that I found my love for music and singing. I grew up in Florence, Alabama, right across the water from Muscle Shoals. I grew up listening to muscle shoals artists such as Etta James, Percy Sledge, James Brown, etc.
These artists and their souls are a large inspiration to my sound. I ended up going to high school at Florence High School and was blessed to be a part of the FAFA (Florence Academy of Fine Arts) program in my school. There, I learned how much I loved to write, record, and perform. From there, I continued doing what I loved, and now I’m continuing to pursue a career doing what I love!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I struggled for a while to find the right path to take to get to my end goals.
I went to college to pursue a major that was in the medical field while trying to figure out a way to have a music career. It was rough for a minute, since I felt like I might have to give up my dreams, but was blessed to find a way back to music!
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a singer named Kirbi! To me, one reason I do what I do is because there’s nothing in this world like making a connection with someone through your voice.
To me, your voice can tell a story like nothing else. If I could live the rest of my life on stage, connecting with someone out there in the audience, I would be the happiest girl in the world,
We love surprises, fun facts, and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I used to work as a fitness instructor, teaching dance fitness classes! I also love to draw and create art.
