Meet SEAY

Today we’d like to introduce you to SEAY.

Hi SEAY, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a professional Musician, Vocalist, and Composer, dedicated to creating inspiring and uplifting content on a global level and helping others achieve their dreams. I also have my own company Tuscan Sun Music, a Music Publishing and Record Label. Our mission is to create and represent inspiring music and innovative positive engaging content.

I was born in Charlottesville, Virginia, the home to Thomas Jefferson, writer of the Declaration of Independence. I grew up in a very Renaissance Household and was exposed to Art, Music, and Culture at a very young age. My formative years were spent playing piano, studying voice, and living in foreign countries; the Far East, Korea, Japan, and Europe. I feel I am a citizen of the world and my multicultural upbringing has made me who I am today. I speak several languages. I also have training in both voice and music and have been blessed to have worked with renowned vocal coaches, Seth Riggs, and Helena Shenel, The University of Southern California with Graduate Studies in Voice and with Musicologist Don Campbell in Music Therapy.

My great aunt was the celebrated American Operatic Mezzo-Soprano Margaret Harshaw, who performed for 22 seasons with the Metropolitan Opera, with large shoes to fill and a giant legacy to carry on! I later attended the Sotheby’s Institute with graduate studies in Decorative Arts, in London. It was while living in England and returning to my family’s roots, my music journey began singing on projects for song publishers and artists Elaine Paige and Annie Lennox and performing in London’s music scene.

Along with being a female entrepreneur, I’m also Artist and humanitarian. I have released multiple music recordings, as a recording artist, many of which have received some very special awards and nominations, Including 3 Global Peace Song Awards, 5 Hollywood Music and Media Awards, and many others. My album “In the Garden” charted on the Billboard New Age albums chart for five weeks peaking at #3 and winning Vocal album of the year. My seasonal albums “A Winter Blessing”, A Winter Blessing the Gift” were named top albums of the decade. In 2021 I worked on the album ‘Pangaea’, as a guest artist, which was nominated for Best New Age album at the 2022 Grammy Awards.

I have been incredibly blessed to have my work and voice be a part of several humanitarian events which include the opening ceremonies of World Peace Day, My song “All Around The World”, a featured theme for Project Peace on Earth’s “Love All ” Simulcast live from Bethlehem, Palestine, for which I am a Global Peace Ambassador. My vocal chant piece “Orion’s Gate” is also on Project Peace on Earth’s “2 Unite All” Volumes 1 and 2 with 26 world artists including, Peter Gabriel, Roger Waters, and Stewart Copeland, in support of The United Nations World Peace Initiatives. I also had the incredible honor to participate as a guest artist on the world music project “Shanti Samsara” launching the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Paris produced by Ricky Kej. I am also a C.A.R.E channel artist with my music airing in hospitals, hospice, and palliative care units.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’m not sure anyone’s path is smooth, I would say the path that I have chosen is the road less traveled. It takes incredible courage and strength, to be honest, and authentic, along with discipline and hard work. But I believe we are here to evolve, connect with others positively and ultimately be of service.

One of the things I’ve learned is to discover creative ways to overcome and work with challenges. I’ve also learned it’s important to work and collaborate with others successfully, and with kindness and enthusiasm.

One of my biggest goals was working with others globally. I worked on some pretty amazing large projects in different time zones and different continents. I am a Singer/Composer and a Producer/Audio Engineer. While I feel I have mastered and completely enjoy collaborating with others, globally now, there was a huge learning curve. The payoff has been all of these extraordinary relationships I’ve formed, and the remarkable projects I’ve found myself on, both my own, and those I’ve contributed to.

The other challenge I want to convey is the changing landscape of both the music and arts. The constant changes in industry, and technology, have been an incredible challenge to all creatives, in the world today. How to thrive and monetize your work is the ultimate goal.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
First, I believe I am a vocalist, and a singer, and have come to be known as a creator of vocal and choral compositions. My sound and style as a singer can say set me apart from others, it is very unique. It is a sound that has evolved over time and has taken on a life all its’ own, and oftentimes is larger than me. What I am known for today is a distinctive and evocative sound, my brand, SEAY. I have created vocals and music for film, television, movie trailers, and recordings in my own work and with others. Secondly, I am a musician and composer, which has added to my own sound and my collaborations with others. Thirdly, I’m sort of a visionary intuitive and can see trends in things which has placed mine sometimes at the forefront.

What I am most proud of are the humanitarian and Innovative projects I’ve worked on and where some of my own songs and artistry have been heard.

– My song, “All Around The World” has aired on over 1000 radio and syndicated stations across the globe, and the video is seen by 80 million people each year with Project Peace on Earth, Meli.tv, and the United Nations. touching the heart of humanity, a song for peace and social change.

-I had the incredible honor of working on a huge project with Indian Composer Ricky Kej with several other musicians called “Shanti Samsara-World Music for Environmental Consciousness”. The album launched the United Nations Environmental Conference, with every world leader in attendance and receiving the CD. My voice was on the title track “Shanti” meaning “peace” and the video in the opening ceremonies.

-My music has also been at the forefront of Immersive music with renowned engineer Jeff Silverman of Palette Music. My debut Album “1 Voice” was a part of the launch of XM’s HD Surround Radio in 5.1 DTS with Sting, Ray Charles, Nora Jones, and Enya over 15 years ago. Still at the forefront, I released a Dolby Atmos Ep “Dream” in 7.1.4, 3D Binaural, and Ultra HD. The music is distributed on IAA, Apple Music, Tidal, and others and the Video for “Dream” in 3D Binaural has won Gold medals for Artistic and Cinematic excellence in Florence, Rome, Milan, Cannes, and the Hollywood Women’s Institute.
