Meet Kirstin Krulikowski of Franklin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kirstin Krulikowski.

Hi Kirstin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
From the moment I could pick up a crayon, creating art has been a central part of my life. Today, I’m blessed to share my passion for Christian art—inspired by God, His creation, and His Word—through my original works, custom pieces, and fine art prints.

My goal as an artist is simple but profound: to draw closer to Jesus Christ through my work and to inspire others to do the same. Every piece I create reflects my faith, whether it’s through depictions of God’s creation, Scripture-inspired designs, or works that celebrate His glory. My art is more than a creative outlet; it’s a way to connect with Him and help others deepen their faith.

As a mother of five, my art is intricately woven into the rhythms of family life, including homeschooling my older children. My journey as both an artist and a mom has been a source of inspiration and joy, as I get to teach my kids about art and creativity while pursuing my own passion.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I took a long break from doing art when I first started having kids because it was so busy. At one point I even tried to sell some of my watercolor animal art and that was not successful although looking back there is so much more I could’ve done to help it be. After that I put down the paint brush and pencil for a long time until more recently when I began to have dreams that I was selling my art.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a faith-inspired artist, specializing in creating meaningful and visually compelling artwork that reflects themes from the Bible and my personal spiritual journey. My work is deeply rooted in my connection with God, and I believe my artistic journey began when I started having dreams in which I was painting and sharing my art. I saw this as a divine nudge to pick up my pencil and paintbrush again.

Initially, I focused on butterfly paintings, as butterflies hold deep symbolic meaning for me. However, over time, I felt called to create what I now refer to as “Jesus Art”—pieces inspired by Scripture and stories from the Bible. My tagline, “Drawing People to Jesus,” came to me in a dream, and it perfectly encapsulates the purpose behind my work: to use art as a way to inspire faith and draw others closer to Him.

Some of the pieces I am most proud of are part of my “Jesus Collection.” For example, my drawing titled *”I Will Be Made Well”*, which depicts the woman touching the hem of Jesus’ garment, holds a special place in my heart. Another favorite is *”The Lord’s Prayer”*, a depiction of Jesus in prayer. Recently, I’ve been exploring a more aesthetic, minimalist approach with muted tones, which I feel enhances the emotional and spiritual connection to the work.

My ultimate dream is to create a beautifully illustrated Bible for adults, one that combines timeless Scripture with modern, visually engaging artwork. I hope to continue creating art that not only resonates with others but also serves as a tool for spiritual reflection and inspiration.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
I don’t have one specific childhood memory that stands out, but many of my favorites revolve around the trips and vacations I took with my family. My mom was an event planner when I was growing up, and sometimes she would bring us along on her trips. I loved being part of those experiences with her—it was exciting to see the places she worked and to spend that time together as a family. Those trips created some of the most meaningful and joyful memories of my childhood.
