Today we’d like to introduce you to Tawnya Reynolds.
Hi Tawnya, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Born and raised in New Mexico. Music was always my path. Nashville was always the intended goal but it wasn’t until after attempting the Austin, TX music scene, I realized it was truly where I needed to be.
I moved to Nashville in 2002 and it really began an entirely new chapter.
I make a living bartending while acquiring a few small publishing deals over the years. In 2013, the opportunity to appear on The Voice presented itself and after some hesitation, decided saying no could lead to regrets. It took me to the top 32 and afterwards platform to perform in front of millions.
After the show, I returned to Nashville and continued to work locally and tour around the U.S.
I’ve recorded four independent records and appeared on the Roger Miller Tribute album, performing duet with Radney Foster, It’s been a highlight to open shows for some of my favorite recording artists.
I continue to write and perform daily, Nashville has truly become a second home for me but I find immense joy in getting to travel and perform for so many country music lovers.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There is no handbook to being a musician in and of itself but even less instruction on how to make it a life. By the grace of God, since 2007, I’ve managed to make a living solely with my voice and a guitar.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I consider myself an artist. I sing. I play guitar. I write. Those things individually would have only taken me so far. The are all of part of what I do and for me, none of them work without the others.
Alright so before we go can you talk to us a bit about how people can work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
I try to be present on social media and my website. I love to give some insight into what it’s like to live in Nashville but also be on the road. I’m am ever available on streaming platforms and my email is available for bookings online.
