Therasa, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Yes, of course! Faith James & Co. was born at the beginning of the COVID season, from a vision my husband and I shared. I’ve always been a creative, and faith has always been the foundation of our relationship. One day, I told my husband I wanted to purchase a Cricut machine to start making t-shirts—and in that moment, God spoke clearly to both of us that our focus should be on building His Kingdom.
At the time, fear and finances stood in the way of our dream, and we set the vision aside. But God never forgot it. In 2024, He made it clear that the vision He placed in my heart was His vision all along.
What began as a small hobby—creating shirts for close friends and family—has grown into a business that is spreading throughout the community. I am beyond grateful and excited to see what the future holds for us!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Sometimes keeping the faith that this is what I’m supposed to be doing—especially full time—can get in my head. This hasn’t been a constant sell-out journey. There have been many moments when I’ve considered applying for a job just to have steady income.
But every single time I do, God reminds me that I am on the right path. Without fail, as soon as I say out loud that I’m going to apply for a job, a shirt request comes in. It may be a small order, but the timing is never small. The reminder is always bigger than the order itself.
God continues to show me that this isn’t just about sales—it’s about obedience, trust, and walking out His purpose, even when it requires faith over fear. Even through the storms, I think of Matthew 5:14-16 and it reminds me to let my light shine so that others can see good deeds and glorify Him.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The foundation of my business is Christian apparel. We take scripture and make it wearable—from bold statement pieces to uplifting messages—all with the goal of being a reminder in the community of how deeply the Lord loves us, while still doing it stylishly.
Beyond Christian apparel, we branch into other areas as well. As a mother of two beautiful children, Mama gear has a special place in my heart. We love to make custom clothes dedicated to mothers (and fathers) and their children. In the near future, we are excited to expand into children’s wear as well.
In addition to clothing, we create a variety of thoughtful gifts and home items. From engraved wood cutting boards and cups to coasters and custom gifts for birthdays and special occasions, our offerings are designed to be meaningful and personal.
There truly isn’t much that Faith James & Co. doesn’t do—we love bringing creativity, faith, and purpose into everything we create.
What matters most to you? Why?
Relationships are so important to me. Christ’s love for me shows me how essential it is to walk in forgiveness and extend grace to others every day. I am not perfect—not even close—but He continues to show favor in my life and reminds me to do good and strive to be better in all that I do. He provides the blueprint for how I should live, and my relationship with Him guides every other relationship I have, from strangers to those closest to me.
My family is my life, and I’m incredibly grateful that God chose them for me. The relationships I share with my family and loved ones truly keep me going. My village is strong, supportive, and constantly uplifting me. Our community has also been incredibly supportive of Faith James and Co. We have a small shop at The Painted Tree–Madison and participate in local vendor markets throughout the year, and the support we receive is truly unmatched. Because of this community, I’m motivated to keep pushing Faith James and Co. to become something greater than I can imagine. I want everything I do to bring love, hope, and a positive impact to my community.
