Meet Tiffany Rangel of Twice Pediatric Dentistry

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiffany Rangel.

Hi Tiffany, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Tiffany Rangel and I am a pediatric dentist in Maryland Farms, Brentwood. I opened Twice Pediatric Dentistry in March of 2021. I attended the University of Florida for undergrad and dental school and knew I always wanted to do pediatrics but decided to start working. I found an amazing job working at a group practice where I got to see a lot of children. I love my job so much it was hard to leave. In 2018, I finally decided to leave and go to pediatric residency and pursue my dream of being certified. I graduated from an NYU affiliated program in 2020 and opened my practice in 2021. I wanted to provide an environment that simplified dental care for kids and families and that is how Twice Pediatric Dentistry was born – you brush your teeth twice a day and go to the dentist twice a year. I also strive to provide individualized care and education – each child and each family is unique. I discuss all the options with each family and together we decide what is best for their child and the treatment. I am also a mom. Becoming a mom definitely made me a better pediatric dentist. I truly treat each of my patients like I would treat my own kiddos. I am very excited to be a part of this community this community and provide the best care possible.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ha ha. No. My colleague and I joke that we drew all the short straws. We have had challenges and hiccups with every single step of the process – the lease, architect, construction, equipment, building, staffing – you name it we had issues. However, if everything was perfect and went smoothly we would not have learned anything. Building this practice, I have learned so much and continue to learn. It has been an adventure and there have been struggles but we are better and stronger for it.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Twice Pediatric Dentistry ?
I answered most of these things in the first questions – about me and how I started.

I am a pediatric dentist. A pediatric dentist goes to two more years of school to specialize in seeing children and special health care needs. Seeing children is more than being good at behavior management (which I call patience), it is knowing extensively about growth and development, specific conditions common in children and primary teeth, what to look out for, being licensed in modalities to sedate young children and so much more.

I think being a mom is a huge aspect that sets me apart from others. There is something about trusting another mom with your little ones that ease one’s mind. Also, options. I am all about educating the parent on their options and then allowing them to help choose the best decision for their child within clinical reason.

Our brand is meant to be comforting, calming, and fun. It is meant to be inviting and not overstimulating. We offering all things in pediatric dentistry, including white crowns for back teeth and different sedation options. We also have BPA free and fluoride free options as well.
