Meet Tyler Price of Alphaletes N Training

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tyler Price.

Hi Tyler, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?

Of course. I grew up as a multi-sport athlete in a small town in Tennessee called Bolivar. I have been passionate about basketball and giving back to my community since a young age, and it has led me to where I am today.
Bolivar doesn’t present many opportunities for athletic growth even though the town is full of great athletes. We always had to travel hours for solid competitions or affordable training camps, and I knew I wanted to change that.
In 2017 during my senior year of college at Middle Tennessee State University, I finally got my first shot at being a basketball coach. This time of my life was a time of many “firsts,” as my daughter Taylor was born that year as well. Since then, I have continued to perfect my craft and blend my passions, hence the development and birth of my sports development program Alphaletes N Training.
Alphaletes N Training offers coaching and training opportunities in a wide variety of sports – from basketball to boxing to cheer and dance. The long-term goal for the program is to operate in both for-profit and non-profit capacities by offering paid training packages and free training sessions for athletes who come from families that cannot afford the training.
As for now, I am residing in Nashville, TN, growing my business and platform, and serving as a boxing instructor at the top Title Boxing Club in the nation (that’s Title Nash, by the way!). There’s really something special here in Nashville, and I’m thankful to be a part of it.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
This journey hasn’t been smooth at all, but I’m grateful for it. I launched Alphaletes N Training just a few weeks before the world shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Surprisingly, that time of isolation and reflection was actually just a blessing in disguise.
I lost my job a quarter into 2020 and just one month after the nationwide shut downs began. It was honestly a tough reality because I had a new program to build on a limited amount of income.  I had just taken the first steps in making the business official – I developed a website, booked photoshoots, printed out business cards, created a professional email, and began picking up new clients. Within the blink of an eye, I lost my full-time job that was funding my part-time job, and I was back at the drawing board.
During that time, I found an outside court in Murfreesboro, Tennessee and began to host free group basketball training sessions. This was a really great way to get our name out there and to also give back to athletes who weren’t able to finish their basketball seasons.
At the same time, I began looking for new employment. I didn’t have many options, but I had a passion for athletics and a determination to make something happen. My now-mentor Jarrod Houston saw the potential in me. He took a shot on me and hired me as a trainer at Title Nash. I didn’t have a background in boxing. In fact, I had only been boxing for about a year and a half before I was hired. I didn’t let that hold me back; I studied the game and perfected my craft. I quickly developed a community at the gym, and it’s been such a huge blessing. I love loving on people and making sure they’re taken of, and Title really makes that easy.
We’ve been impressed with Alphaletes N Training, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Alphaletes N Training currently trains athlete among 7 different sports. We specialize in sports-specific training that translates directly into “game time.” We aren’t here to waste your time or money. We don’t just go through the motions. We are intentional with our training and make sure the athletes are prepared from every angle. Before training, our athletes undergo a detailed evaluation to determine their strengths and weaknesses. It’s important for athletes and their parents to know what we can offer them and in what ways we expect to meet our goals for the athlete and the athlete’s goals for themselves. We treat our clients and athletes like family and take pride in establishing a long-term relationship with them.
We are also set apart through our free community training sessions. We want to ensure that every athlete has access to high quality training and coaches. We are striving to level the playing field!
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
In the athletic scene especially, risk taking is a requirement. We don’t have the luxury of being risk averse like other professions do.
With that being said, I believe that in order to become successful in life, you have to take risk. You have to be comfortable with being uncomfortable. You have to fearlessly jump off the cliff even though walking upon solid ground makes it easier to sleep at night. You have to be okay with sacrificing that peace of mind in order to change not only your life but the lives of others as well.
You have to be willing to take risk to grow and develop yourself mentally, physically, spiritually, and emotionally. Taking risks means new learning opportunities, and new learning opportunities means a greater chance for success.
