Meet Wild the Coyote of East

Today we’d like to introduce you to Wild the Coyote .

Wild the Coyote, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
From growing up in a small farm town on California’s central coast to exploring big city living in Los Angeles, I tried to find my way in the music industry by forming the punk-rock band Gunpowder Secrets upon moving to Hollywood in 2007. The band found notable success as a local L.A. act, but not enough to make dreams come true. In 2013, I started my solo project Wild the Coyote, stepped away from the band to pursue a more personal endeavor, and found my new sound and voice as a modern outlaw-country artist. Tapping into my small town roots, rough punk style, and replacing live drums with electronic beats, I discovered exactly how I wanted to create, write and deliver my fresh take on traditional country music. As Wild the Coyote, I have toured across North America and placed multiple songs on T.V. and film, most notably in Paramount Pictures hit series Yellowstone and Mayor of Kingstown. I try to be a captivating musician with a refreshing rhythm and a dark, poetic lyrical style. I like to paint a picture like tales from the Wild West told by a very weathered and lonely soul and I put a dark twist on my lyrics to take them as far as possible to give someone chills.  I came to Nashville after releasing my latest E.P. ’ 7 Roses’ in January 2022 to see what kind of motion I could create, and I fell in love with this city, the people, and the type of electric talent exploding day in and day out here. I’m proud to be a part of it now.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been smooth?
I’ve experienced all types of terrains in my musical career, so it’s not so much about smooth or rocky roads because any road eventually runs out. It’s more about the stages of this profession that I’m grateful to have seen and lived to tell you about because they’ve all been either monumental or a learning experience to take with you as you keep climbing the ladder of success. I consider myself blessed and relentless in it all; I’ll take all the roads as long as they point forward.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’ve been solely working on Wild the Coyote since 2017, and it’s just like any business, being accountable and hungry for success. It takes a lot of passion, hard work, and sacrifice to get yourself off the ground, but when you do, you fight tooth and nail to stay afloat before finding a way to soar. I specialize in modern outlaw country, swampy blues with a modern element of electric drums, and even punk that I haven’t heard yet. I’m most proud of landing a few songs on the TV series Yellowstone and being able to travel and perform for so many great cities and people this continent has to offer. I also put a lot of effort and passion into my merchandise, so I feel fulfilled anytime I sell out and item or ship internationally across the world. I pride myself in my style and ambition for getting out there using both underground and mainstream audiences. I’m in my lane and I want to keep it that way.

Alright, before we go, can you talk to us a bit about how people can work, collaborate, or support you?
As we close the 2022 year, I look forward to touring and hitting as many cities as I can so I can bring that type of storytelling and performance to the fans and people. I’ll be stepping into the studio to start writing and producing my next 2 album projects which is set to release later this year and in early 2023. And I will enjoy establishing myself in this fine and one-of-a-kind city, Nashville.
