Meet Yasmine Chambers

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmine Chambers.

Yasmine, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Yasmine Arlene: All Things Beauty first came about in the fall of 2015. I had no intentions of it being a full-time career; I just enjoyed doing hair, makeup, and nails for fun.

At that time, I was enrolled in college at Bethel University to achieve my bachelor’s in Music Industry Studies. That plan faded after about two and a half years of being enrolled.

I realized that wasn’t what I wanted for my future. I then came home and needed to redirect my life but didn’t quite know where to go from there. My dad suggested that I go to beauty school since I’ve always had a passion for all things beauty.

I enrolled at the top of the year in 2018 at Empire Beauty School in Brentwood, TN, and graduated the following year in January. I then went on to obtain my cosmetology license in February of 2019. I explored several different types of shared salon settings and quickly realized that wasn’t my style. To better myself in the wig-making craft, I took a custom wig-making course in July of 2019 as well.

This was KEY in my future endeavors. In August of 2019, I decided to work for HairClub in Brentwood TN and became a New Client Specialist which also aided in my knowledge of custom wigs. Life got pretty hectic, my mental and physical health was declining so I resigned from the HairClub.

From there, I took the biggest leap of faith: going full-time as Yasmine Arlene: All Things Beauty! As of April 2021, I have been a full-time entrepreneur! It definitely has not been easy but ever since I decided to follow my dreams, it has been nothing but amazing! I obtained my first salon suite in Murfreesboro, TN.

I’ve had the opportunity to work with several celebrity clients through my custom wig-making skills, I’ve been able to travel and work on video sets as a stylist, have a fully booked schedule with wonderful, loyal clients and so many more amazing things!

I have put hundreds and hundreds of hours into my craft and the harder that I push myself, the more I accomplish and more opportunities come my way. I’ve only hit the tip of the iceberg and I am extremely excited to see where this brand of mine takes me!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been a smooth road.

The financial side of things seems to be a common hurdle when first starting your own business. You are the boss, so you’re essentially the source of EVERYTHING. Money management is key to a successful business.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in Custom Luxury Wigs, Silk Pressing, and various types of Makeup.

I would say that I’m most known for my custom wigs. I take pride in the fact that I take each of my client’s exact measurements, provide too quality hair & lace, match the colors that they desire, and deliver wigs that never disappoint! What sets me apart from other wig makers is that I fully listen to my clients.

I take into consideration their lifestyles, their complexion, and always keep the communication open to where they feel comfortable at all times. I love what I do!

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I see the beauty industry as a continuously growing field. Someone will always need their hair or makeup done but I see it becoming much easier and more convenient over time through more travel services through stylists.
