Patrick Kingcaid of Mount Juliet on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Patrick Kingcaid. Check out our conversation below.

Good morning Patrick, it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
My camera, when I am not in a good place, I pick up my camera and get out and shoot. I seem to do some of my best work then, don’t ask why, but it clears my mind.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Well, in 2012, I started a YouTube channel called Mid Tn Outdoors. Over the years, I have touched on many outdoor-related subjects. Still going strong with that now, traveling all over visiting new places. One of the biggest thing I have gotten into is photography, some may say I now have to many cameras, around 30 or so.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
Not sure I see myself yet, still.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Yes, every day that ends in Y, but someone says you have to keep on keeping on.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
Yes it is, what you see is what you get. I am a nice guy, can be shy, but I can come around pretty quick.

Okay, so let’s keep going with one more question that means a lot to us: If you knew you had 10 years left, what would you stop doing immediately?
Stop working my 9-5 and exploring more of this earth and photography as much of it as one person can shoot.
