Rising Stars: Meet Adrian Zackery of Nashville

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adrian Zackery.

Hi Adrian , we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story started in high school when I decided to quit the football team and pursue my way into photography. Growing up I always played sports and I thought that would be my passion growing up and eventually going D1. But then I chose to take a photography class and wasn’t as interested as I thought I was until my teacher pushed me to take photos for the yearbook. Throughout that time I started to build my craft and take photos for the students and players in sports for our school and made a little money on the side while doing so. after graduating in 2022, I was offered a student photographer position for the CMA festival in Nashville and that is when I found my passion for photography. I started off doing music and con photography by sometimes sneaking in my camera into concerts until I eventually got signed with a media company based in Boston called Masshole Media then I started doing shows and concerts for the next 2 1/2 years until I took another direction for fashion and editorial photography. Although I still love shooting concerts, my love and interest are, and mainly fashion and storytelling as far as my work. Create a story and expressing it through colors through garments through the environment is something that I try to do with all of my work that I put out. It’s not just a matter of clicking a button. It’s a vision that I have and created into a beautiful art form. My brand called infinite visions is about the multiple possibilities and stories I can create behind the lens. my creative process begins long before I ever pick up a camera. I imagine how a scene should feel the atmosphere the colors the quiet details that my otherwise go unnoticed then I bring that intervention to life through intentional creation and storytelling. It’s an approach that gives my work strong sense of depth, motion and narrative for me. Every projects in the opportunity to see differently, feel more deeply and create art that resonates because my visions are infinite. and to end off my story beyond the technical crafts, I believe photography as a language, one capable of translating the motion into something visible and lasting my art reflects, authenticity, storytelling, and pursuit of words that linger in the viewers mind.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
it definitely wasn’t easy starting off with gear used from my school to years of working and building up gear that I use now obviously I had to learn and go through trial and error to find my actual craft and when I’m good at being in the photography business isn’t cheap and working 29 to 5 jobs well also pursuing something that I love has definitely put a mental and physical toll on me but through that pursuit, I still try to remember my passion in my goals and with that it pushes me even further and creates more of a motivation in a fire in me to stay consistent to stay passionate to stay creative. As a black man, especially in my neighborhood stuff like photography was looked down upon whereas stuff like sports or being strong and tough or mainly the path to go, so that also took a toll on my mental when it came to pursuing this something that I enjoy while also trying to not be embarrassed within the community I was raised in.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
i’m a professional photographer based in Nashville and with my work a lot of people love the storytelling and the composition and depth behind my work with every single shoot. I try to make it as different in this creative as possible than the next each one is a different story, a different feeling, a different look in a different style. I always try to stay unique and authentic and every single one and I feel that’s what sets me apart from others where I feel as if most photographers take the common safe road I try to take the more different approach and the more riskier side of art because I believe that’s where the true creativeness comes out of you. I try not to gather inspiration from other people‘s work, but gather inspiration from physical media from failing from music and from the wonders of the world around me that’s where I feel like I can become a true creative in a true artist.

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
growing up, I was a passionate, but shy kid that loved anime a lot and that’s where I get a lot of my inspiration from butI got bullied a lot for that, and I really didn’t have as much confidence. i was always people pleaser and i never knew what path I wanted to take. that is until I pursued photography and started to focus more on myself and what I want and not care about the negative things that other people were throwing at me. I became more fluid and more confident in myself. my mom would always tell me to never let people steal your joy and the more I followed that the more I felt better about myself and what I put out there and how I live, because truly there are people out in this world who only want to see you down and fail, but knowing your true destiny and your true purpose and sticking to that as well it keeps you going.
