Rising Stars: Meet Amy Bannerman of Brentwood,TN

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amy Bannerman

Hi Amy, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’ve been a nurse for, what seems to be, my whole life. It has suited me well and evolved to suit the station of my life. I began working nights in the ER in Memphis and then a cardiac step-down/dialysis nurse when I moved to Nashville. Eventually, after babies, I landed in a dermatology office for 8 years. Having suffered my whole life with acne, skin has always been my passion. Eventually, a dermatologist that I’d worked with in the past wanted me to work for her. I negotiated that she mentor me to inject, she agreed. 6 years later, I opened Skin Edit 615.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Opening Skin Edit 615 has been a little bumpy, that’s expected. I was very fortunate to have the help of a few of my bestie injector friends at Reflection Aesthetics Co. They had just opened their own business a few months before me. Without them, I would’ve been lost! We’ve formed a symbiotic partnership. We bounce questions and concerns off of each other and share new business info and hype each other up on our socials.
Also, Lori, my esthetician. I truly believe that we were connected by God. She is the best at what she does and we truly support each other.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I have always been very right brained and artistic. I was an art minor in college. Aesthetic injecting married my love of medicine and art perfectly. I love facial balancing with cheeks, lips & chin. People are under the misconception that filler has to look unnatural. When done correctly, it can not only turn back the clock a few years, it can make you looked more rested and refreshed. I feel like my approach to injecting is different because I really do treat my patients like family. We talk about their lives, kids, jobs, vacations etc. I think people appreciate feeling special.

What makes you happy?
So many things. My family. I’ve been married 24 years and have 2 kids, Brooks & Brinley, in college. They all are the light’s of my life
Empty nesting is new this year, so my husband and I are dabbling with a little travel, food and wine.
My Golden Retriever puppy, Archie. The best dog I’ve ever had. So smart and sweet.
Working. Giving clients sound advice on skin care and anti-aging options and then seeing the vision come to fruition makes me very happy.
