Rising Stars: Meet Bailey Patton of Lipscomb University

Today we’d like to introduce you to Bailey Patton.

Hi Bailey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started singing/performing at 5 years old. Since then I have sang on radio stations, in bars, specialty fairs, Grand Ole Opry and more. Picking up that guitar is the greatest decision of my life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Struggles have been unmatched. This is the most cut throat industry. Full of people just like you, clawing their way to the top. It’s been hard to say the least. If you don’t have grit, you don’t have anything.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m known for being the “small town Arkansas” girl. The girl who got snuck into businesses I was too young to be in, just to belt out my voice. What has always set me apart… I was never an artist who covered new music. I’m a 70’s rock and roller through and through. Even as a 7 year old kid.

How do you think about luck?
Luck plays every role. It plays the role of decision maker (because you truly have no say in what happens to you in this industry). But I have to say… God is bigger than any “luck” I may have.
