Rising Stars: Meet Belem Trevino of La Vergne

Today we’d like to introduce you to Belem Trevino.

Hi Belem, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My career as a makeup artist started almost seven years ago when I just wanted to learn a new hobby, and I fell in love with this profession. Two years ago, I left my full-time job to dedicate myself 100% to my business. It was the best decision I could have made, and all of this is also thanks to my husband, who always supports me.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Yes, I have faced challenges while starting my business. My time has to be divided between my family, my career, and my business. I am still learning and staying up to date, which takes time, money, and effort. Sometimes I feel like I can’t handle it all, but when I see how far I’ve come, it gives me strength.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a makeup artist, and I love doing all types of makeup, whether it’s for brides, quinceañeras, photography, or even special effects (SFX). I also do hairstyling.

Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
Don’t compare yourself to anyone, everyone reaches their goal in the time that each one decides.
