Today we’d like to introduce you to Cameron Hinkle.
Hi Cameron, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
After graduating college with a degree in marketing and photography, I began working for a real estate firm as their marketing director. Soon after, I started really getting to learn the ins and the outs of real estate, and although I had always found interesting, I never really knew how to get into it. After a while, I decided to move to Nashville, where I had no idea what I would do or where I would end up, but for whatever reason, I just kept feeling like I was supposed to be in Nashville. So, January of 2018, I moved to Nashville with my clothes and a few belongings packed into my sedan and set out to Nashville, where I had signed a lease for a 530 square foot studio apartment. I took a job as manager of Urban Juicer’s brand-new location. I had been a supervisor in a restaurant in Charleston while I was in college, so I thought I can certainly run a juice bar! After three months of living in Nashville, I met someone, which was the opposite of what I was moving to Nashville for! After a year of working for UJ, I left. I wanted to pursue my photography! I was paying student loans back, so I may as well put it to use, right? Soon after, I realized starting this venture would be a lot harder than I thought. Although I loved meeting musicians and artists in the city to shoot them, they weren’t really paying the bills, ya feel me? Haha. So, I took a job as a banker at a bank. I also moved to Franklin, as I found myself there every weekend in the coffee shops and antique shops. I moved to Franklin with Kyle, my boyfriend. It felt right so I took the plunge! After a couple of years working at the bank and growing a following on Instagram, I was able to leave the bank so that I could finally pursue what I felt like I was supposed to do for so long – real estate! All the stars aligned and it just felt like the perfect time to just go for it! So, I did! I joined Village Real Estate in July of 2021. On top of that, Kyle’s artwork as his side of his business began to pick up. We are launching StayFoxx Studios in the fall and we couldn’t be more excited to tackle this business together, Kyle is an amazing artist and designer, and with my marketing, photography, and business skills, I feel like we can really make all of this work. I like to give thanks to Nashville and Franklin – but especially the friends that supported me and us throughout this whole new venture thing. So yeah! In a very short, wrapped-up version, that is my story!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Ya know, I really feel blessed when I sit back and think about it. I think we all have struggles. Whether it’s family, business, personal, or just life. But I really feel like it’s all in how we look at it and take it in. For me, I really had a destination I knew I wanted to reach. So, every day, 5 days a week, I woke up and drove to a day job that I didn’t care for. Then at night and on the weekends, we hustled to get to where we wanted and still want to be! So, to answer the question. The road hasn’t been newly paved smooth – but I wouldn’t say it’s been a struggle either. Again, I am certainly blessed. I haven’t been given a thing in regards to anything I have achieved. I have hustled and I have worked. But I think that is when you can really step back and be grateful. Because YOU did it. Ya know?
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am in Real Estate! New to the market though, let me add. Before this I was in banking – and I have always been a photographer. I like to categorize myself as an entrepreneur. I really enjoy marketing and business and the thrill and joy of seeing your fruits of labor come to fruition. What I am most proud of? Well, it is an interesting question because I don’t really consider myself a proud person. However, to answer the question, my one thing I know I am proud of is my hustle. That’s cheesy, I know! But I know that to get to where I want to go, I’ve gotta work today! I have to show up today so that I can enjoy it later. What sets me apart from others is my ability to really listen and really interact with people. If you’re talking to me, I am listening to you. My biggest thing, anywhere I go, is customer service. It may sound bad, but if I go in any place of business and I don’t feel welcomed, I will not purchase anything. It’s true for me and it’s true for others! So, I treat others the way I want to be treated. Welcomed and appreciated. Because it’s true! If you’re coming to me for my professional services, I thank you for that – and I want you to know that I am thankful for that.
What makes you happy?
Cake. Why? Because it’s delicious! Lol. No, in all seriousness, what makes me happy is being with the ones I love. Kyle and my toy poodle, Rinna make me the happiest guy around. If I have those two, I am thrilled. Add cake, and I am over the moon.
