Rising Stars: Meet Caroline Hughes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Caroline Hughes.

Hi Caroline, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
I graduated with a bachelor’s in Political Science with a minor in English writing with the hopes of becoming an attorney at law. However, my once unwavering passion for law began to dwindle as I found that the writing portion of my degree left me with deeper satisfaction and greater fulfillment.

Contrary to my own belief, it wasn’t my excellent GPA or art of persuasion that brought me to my calling, but my knack for social media & design that opened up the door to the present.

Beginning as a social media manager for a local coworking space in Franklin at the start of 2019, my photography and copywriting skills proceeded me and word traveled fast. I acquired three new clients by June of the same year simply through word of mouth.

For every client, I took on several roles including the campaign manager, booking agent, graphic designer, and digital marketing strategist. From there, I established my personal brand that aims to serve those who wish to achieve the utmost impact for their business.

What started out as a social media agency quickly became a marketing firm equipped to provide digital and print graphics, website design, product launch design, and strategy. Caro Creative Co. continues to help clients and their businesses show up consistently and effectively online.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The journey to the CCC that exists today was all but smooth. While working a nine to five and pregnant, I navigated my first two social media clients; building, scheduling, and customizing content calendars to suit. After giving birth and feeling the weight of both being apart from my child and that of childcare expenses, I knew that I had to leave my nine to five to pursue my dream and dive headfirst into building my business.

The first year entailed a series of learning curves, establishing my authority in the marketing industry and investing in my own self-education and growth.

However, after watching my business scale to 3x by year two, I knew that I made the right decision.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
After my first two years in marketing, I began to hone in on my offerings to (1) what I’m best at and (2) what is most fulfilling. Thus, I made the decision to include more service options and enhance current ones.

Caro Creative Co. offers Launch Design & Strategy, Web Design + SEO, Graphic Design, Social Media Management, Newsletter Design, and Audits + Action Plans.

But aside from my services, what I offer is incredible attention to detail and delicacy when handling small businesses and their needs–something that larger-scale marketing firms can’t offer to small business owners. It’s always a one-on-one custom experience that leaves clients feeling confident in the plan and confident in their products.

What’s next?
As far as the future of Caro Creative, there may be some additions to the team. As the client load continues to grow at a rapid pace since the start, I want to continue to dedicate enough time and attention to each client as they deserve. Also, I’m working on a line of products for business owners wanting to DIY their own social media marketing. I’m SO excited to announce my recent release, Social Media Optimizer & 365-Day Content Planner (now available on Amazon!). This spacious 8X10 planner not only helps plan & write consistent content, but it’s also stocked with worksheets for discovering your target audience, a Product Framework to see how your product solves your customers’ problems, Content Checklist to tailor your posts to your audience (cold, warm or hot!) plus quarterly auditing tools!
