Today we’d like to introduce you to Casper Sage.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started making music due to the realization of my musical inclination combined with tons of feelings being poured into the wrong places. That was almost 7 years ago now and although I didn’t begin pouring feelings into music at first, I came to realize that art was nothing but a gimmick without that transparency and vulnerability (for me).
As I began to pour myself authentically into music, music began to pour back into me.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
My struggles were light and mostly had to do with my process. I was afraid to use my authentic voice and talk about my real feelings….too focused on trying to be cool because I secretly thought I wasn’t…
As I began to mature I realized what’s cool to me is being honest and making the real me cool rather than just playing some sort of character or what I think I’m supposed to be.
Letting your art speak to something greater than me is cool, informing those who need to hear my message is cool, and letting the art bring itself to me is cool.
My struggle was always me.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m Casper Sage, an artist, producer, engineer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, etc.
I’ve been recently described sonically as a derivative of Frank Ocean but I believe that might change soon due to my constant state of evolution as a person/artist…maybe not, though.
I’m really proud of how far I’ve come and the friends and family whom I’ve inspired along the way. I’m proud that the music speaks to a message greater than just looking at listening to me.
I’m encouraging people to be themselves and find their own art(s). After all, our purpose here is to create. I wish to use music, which is where my intuition is strongest, to help spread these messages of love, growth, and just overall emotions. I wanna make the music I wish I had when I was younger….stuff encouraging me to be me.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I just wanna make music that sounds like how I saw the world as a kid…..I often find that I’m not the only one who feels negatively about losing touch with that spark that makes everything extraordinary. By finding it within me, I can share it with others.
