Rising Stars: Meet Darrin Stafford of Madison

Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrin Stafford.

Hi Darrin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.

My name is Darrin Stafford, and I am the father of two girls and one boy, Mayim, Nadia, and DJ. I am also the only son of Gail & Leroy Stafford. My mom is why I have a passion for helping my community. My mother was the administrator for former Congressman Bob Clement in his North Nashville office, where she helped many families. The name “Can’t stop Won’t stop,” the Movement that Motivates, was inspired by my mother. After having a stroke, I would tell her, “Mama, you can’t stop, and I won’t let you stop,” and the name came to fruition, then “Can’t stop Won’t stop” was established. The “Can’t stop Won’t stop” Movement that Motivates helps feed and helps find housing for the homeless. We also help those with mental challenges and addictions, as we know there are many addictions. We do all of this with donations. We’re trying to start a non-profit that way we can do more and help more in our community. With “Can’t stop Won’t stop,” the Movement that Motivates, I am a Life Coach and Motivational speaker. I’ve had to deal with my own life struggles, but I know that Philippians 4:13 says I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, so I have set out to help as many as God will put in my path. We are just getting started with “Can’t stop Won’t stop,” the Movement that Motivates. 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a smooth road?
It has been a struggle. I started with two cases of donated pop-top canned goods. I would give out those canned goods to everyone I would see holding a sign. We all have experienced coming to an intersection and seeing someone standing on almost every corner. So those two cases ran out fast. I had to start spending my own money to provide canned goods. I would pass them out to the homeless and then they started looking forward to seeing me. I felt like I couldn’t let them down, and along the way, someone mentioned that I should start asking for donations, which went over very well. I also sold t-shirts that said “Can’t stop Won’t stop” Philippians 4:13. To provide for the homeless.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?

As of right now, I work for Elite show services, where I am what I call the Security gatekeeper for the Music City Center. I’m the one that allows freight to come into the Music City Center and artists for concerts as well as my guys The Nashville Predators to go into the Bridgestone arena. I am known for my outgoing personality. I’m most proud of how I can interact with people as if I have known them all my life. What sets me aside from others is that I keep a positive attitude. I know that if God can turn my life around, he can do it for anyone. 

What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
The quality and characteristic that I feel are most important to my success is my determination not to fail. I truly believe I can’t stop and won’t stop on this mission and journey that God has me on.
