Rising Stars: Meet DJ Priddy

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Priddy.

Hi DJ Priddy, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had an ear for music growing up. I started playing music for my friend’s house parties in college on my phone initially.

Soon people began to pass my information to bigger and bigger circles and my closest friends encouraged me to take DJ’n seriously. So I invested in myself and, with the blessing from God, I’ve had a very successful career ever since.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a small business owner always has its ups and downs. I definitely would not be where I’m at today if it wasn’t for God’s grace.

I think COVID was one of the hardest times for all entertainers. Almost seeing everything come to a complete stop and being in limbo about how things would look after all is said and done.

Even now potentially risking your health to do what you love to do the most is kind of surreal.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I DJ for a living and co-own a sound and lighting company.

I am in one of the most prestigious DJ groups in the nation, Coalition DJs. I also run our chapter’s web radio station, Dope House Radio on Live365.com. But what I’m most proud of is being a father to my two kids and being able to help them learn and grow and enjoy everything life has to offer.

What sets me apart from most DJs is my work ethic and ability to DJ almost any genre of music and play for multiple different demographics. My motto is “hard work never goes unnoticed,” and I live every day this way.

How do you define success?
I personally define success as being happy with the work that you’ve put in prior and knowing the outcome will show the fruits of your labor. Consistency and patience are key and your persistence will be rewarded in time.
